Fore Women helps women build financial stability, economic mobility, and long-term opportunity. Forward starts Here.

Through direct financial support, workforce development, career coaching, and advocacy, the organization serves women and their families. NCJW|LA is committed to advancing economic justice and equity for women in Los Angeles. We combine hands-on programs and services with activism and advocacy to drive change on a micro and macro level -- supporting the passage of laws and policies that ensure economic security, promote dignity, and expand the safety net for women and their families. NCJW|LA programs are more than a safety net, they are a launching pad that propels women toward financial stability.

Advocacy is strongest when the people closest to an issue have a voice in shaping its solution.

This summer, Fore Women staff, advocates, and program participants met with representatives from eight state elected officials’ offices across Los Angeles County to bring community priorities directly to policymakers. Together, they advocated for expanded access to direct cash assistance, equitable policies for women at work and at home, and greater investment in career pathways.

Clothing is a basic need.

When people are facing financial hardship, having access to clean, appropriate clothing can make a meaningful difference in their daily lives, from getting to work and school to feeling prepared for important moments.

At Fore Women, we believe meeting basic needs is part of building economic stability. Through our resale store , we provide affordable clothing and household items while supporting our broader work to help women and families move forward.

More than 50 volunteers came together at Fore Goods this summer as part of the Daisy Chain Reaction, giving their time to support our stores and connect with our mission. 🌼

What started as a chance to volunteer became something more: a reminder that every hour, donation, and purchase can create a ripple of impact for women and families across Los Angeles.

Fore Goods, formerly known as The Council Shop, is more than a thrift store. It’s a place where affordable goods, job opportunities, workforce training, and community come together to create greater opportunity for women and families across Los Angeles.

We were proud to welcome staff from District Office to our Burbank store and share how every donation, purchase, and job helps move our mission forward.
