The fraudulent economic “recovery” is worsening for the vast majority of the population. Imperialist war, even a nuclear World War III, looms around the corner. Climate change threatens the entire planet. These threats and others demonstrate that capitalism is a system in crisis, incapable of creating a decent future for youth, students, and workers everywhere. The Los Angeles City College chapter of the International Youth and Students for Social Equality seeks to mobilize students and young workers in the struggle for the only viable alternative to capitalism: socialism. The IYSSE is dedicated to the defense of democratic rights, opposition to war, and the arming of students, youth, and workers with a socialist perspective. All interested people are welcome to attend meetings, regardless of major or enrollment status. Meetings include a political report on recent events given by an IYSSE member, highlighting relevant historical and theoretical issues. These reports and subsequent discussion are integral to our perspective for work on campus. Regular IYSSE meetings are held at Holmes Hall 202.
