Looking to add a furry friend to your family? Join us for our FREE Adoption Day event on Saturday, June 6th!

This special event is made possible through the generous support of CalAnimals, the San Francisco SPCA, and the ASPCA, helping more shelter pets find loving forever homes.

✅ Adoption fees will be waived for approved adopters.
✅ All adopted animals will be spayed/neutered before leaving the shelter.

If the animal you choose has not yet been altered and you would like to take them home that day, a refundable spay/neuter deposit will be required:
• Male animals: $100
• Female animals: $150

🐕 Important: If you currently have other dogs in your household and are interested in adopting a dog, a meet-and-greet with your resident dog(s) will be required before the adoption can be finalized. This helps ensure a good match and a successful transition into your home.

The Canal Trail Overlay Project is complete! ✅

A huge thank you to the Los Banos Public Works Streets Division for completing the work and to the San Joaquin River Exchange Water Authority for providing $100,000 in grant funding to help make this project possible.

We hope you enjoy the smoother trail and get out to walk, run, and ride it this summer. 🚴

And we’re not done yet, solar trail lighting is anticipated in Summer 2026! ☀️💡

One Tree Housing Project Update

The City of Los Banos is making strong progress on the One Tree Housing Project, with crews currently installing key underground utilities that will support future housing.

City Engineer James Cozad and Lead Inspector Anna Chavez shared that recent work has focused on storm drain and sewer systems — critical infrastructure that ensures safe, reliable services for the site.

This project has taken months of planning and coordination, and it’s exciting to see that work now coming to life in the field. These systems will support 58 modular homes for members of our community in need.

More than just construction, this is about building safe, lasting infrastructure that serves Los Banos for years to come.
