Sometimes the most loving thing you can do is start a conversation before you know what comes next. ๐
Talking with a parent about aging, care, or what they may need in the future can feel uncomfortable, but waiting until there is a crisis can make an already difficult situation even harder.
Start with simple questions:
What matters most to you as you get older?
What kind of help would you be comfortable accepting?
What would you want your days to look like?
Where would you want to live?
Who would you want involved in decisions about your care?
You don't have to have every answer, You just have to start the conversation.
Planning ahead isn't about taking away someone's independence, it's about making sure their wishes are heard while there is still time to listen, talk, and plan together.
๐ฌ What's one question you think every family should talk about before a crisis happens?
๐Save this for later and share it with someone who may need it.
