Shortly before 9am this morning, 911 dispatchers received a call from a resident reporting her oven was on fire and she was unable to leave the residence on her own. Upon hearing this dispatch information battalion 1 directed the engine 2 crew to rescue operations. Upon arrival, engine 2 crew made entry to the home and located a female resident in the kitchen and safely extricated her to the outside. Patient care was initiated and we are happy to report she had only minor injuries. Crews remained on scene to ensure the fire was extinguished and assisted with clearing the home of smoke.
