It only took us 94 years, but Walt Disney’s Storybook Mansion is officially on Instagram.

Walt was never one to resist a new medium, so we’d like to think he’d approve.

✨ Walk through the front door of Walt Disney’s 1930s storybook estate and into Disney history…

This is the home where Walt and Lillian Disney raised their daughters, hosted Hollywood legends, screened early Disney classics, and helped shape the future of entertainment itself. Guests will explore the mansion’s beautiful interiors, Walt’s private screening room, and even the tiny fairytale cottage built for Diane and Sharon Disney in the backyard. 🏡

Just a few spots remain for the 11AM and 1PM tours on May 23rd, and due to demand, we’ve now added two new tour dates: June 13th and June 27th.

Meet an Early Disney Imagineer Inside Walt Disney’s Storybook Mansion This Saturday

A special opportunity awaits this Saturday at 1 PM when Disney preservationist Dusty Sage is joined by early Disney Imagineer Tania McKnight Norris for a rare tour inside Walt Disney’s Storybook Mansion in the Hollywood Hills.

Tania worked with some of Disney’s legendary artists and will share stories from the early creative era of the company while guests explore the remarkable home where Walt Disney lived during one of the most defining chapters of his life.

🏠 Walk in Walt Disney’s Footsteps

Built in 1932, this enchanting storybook-style estate is where Walt raised his daughters, hosted legendary gatherings, and dreamed up many of the films and ideas that would shape generations.

Only on rare occasions can you go beyond the gates.

On this approximately 90-minute guided tour, guests explore both the interior and grounds of Walt’s private home, including:

• Walt’s personal screening room, where he previewed classics-in-the-making
• The charming Seven Dwarfs Cottage, a backyard playhouse Walt gifted his daughters in 1937
• Beautifully restored architectural details throughout the home and gardens
• Sweeping views of Los Angeles from this historic hillside estate

The home still feels remarkably alive with history. Walking its halls and gardens, it can feel as though Walt has simply stepped out for the afternoon.

This isn’t just a tour. It’s a rare invitation to stand where Walt stood, imagine what he imagined, and experience the creative spark that still lingers here.

Spring has arrived at the 1930s home Walt Disney built for his family… and new tour dates are now available.

If you missed your chance over the holidays, this is your opportunity to step inside the historic Walt Disney Storybook Mansion — the home Walt built at the dawn of his studio’s early success, where his daughters grew up and where pivotal chapters of Disney history quietly unfolded.

This approximately 90-minute guided experience explores both the interior and exterior of the estate… from carefully preserved living spaces to the gardens, terraces, and sweeping views that made this hilltop retreat so special.

Along the way, your guide connects the personal story of the Disney family to the growth of the company that would change entertainment forever, revealing how life inside this house influenced the work being created just down the hill.

Tours are hosted by Disney historian and preservationist Dusty Sage, CEO of MiceChat, who helped save and restore Walt Disney’s Birthplace in Chicago and now serves as curator of the Storybook Mansion.

Attendance is limited to just 20 guests per tour to ensure a personal experience.

🗓 Tuesday, December 10 – two Classic History Tours

Built in 1932, this Hollywood Hills home is where Walt Disney lived during some of his most creative years, raising his family and shaping the future of animation and themed entertainment. The house has been carefully restored, offering a rare look inside Walt’s private world… not a museum recreation, but the real place.

After these dates, regular public tours will pause for a while. If you’ve been meaning to visit Walt Disney’s most personal and historic home, this is your window.

1️⃣ Holiday History Tours (Multiple Dates in December)

Our classic seasonal tour of Walt’s 1930s Storybook Mansion.
These dates offer:
• A guided walkthrough with house historian Dusty Sage
• Seasonal décor throughout the home (including the 12-foot tree)
• Stories and details from Walt’s life in the house

These are available on several dates through the end of the month - booking up fast!

2️⃣ One-Time Santa Tour (Only December 26 at 3:30 PM)

A separate, special tour with unique experiences not offered on the regular dates.
This tour includes:
• Access to the downstairs of the mansion
• A heartwarming Christmas-morning story from the Disney family
• A vintage Silly Symphony short screened in Walt’s private screening room
• And yes… a meet-and-greet with Santa inside the mansion
• MUST SELECT DEC 26 at 3:30 for the Santa event

This Santa experience happens once, and only once this season.
