🏳️‍🌈 Our Home. Our Heart. Our Pride. 🏳️‍🌈

At Valencia Shelter Services, we believe everyone deserves safety, dignity, and a place to belong.

To celebrate Pride Month, we've created a special-edition t-shirt featuring our heart-in-home symbol reimagined in the colors of Pride. The message on the back says it all:

Diverse. Inclusive. Accepting. Welcoming. Safe Space. For EVERYONE.

We're proud to share that proceeds from this campaign will benefit Equality New Mexico and their work advancing equality and opportunity for LGBTQ+ New Mexicans.

Wear your Pride. Support a great cause. Help us build a community where everyone belongs.

Valencia Shelter Services was honored to participate in the 2nd Annual New Mexico Community Alcohol Prevention Summit hosted by the New Mexico Department of Health's Office of Alcohol Misuse Prevention (OAMP) at the Inn of the Mountain Gods in Mescalero, New Mexico.

This statewide gathering brought together prevention professionals, community leaders, Tribal partners, and stakeholders committed to reducing alcohol-related harms and strengthening prevention efforts across New Mexico.

We are especially proud of Trinity Carrillo, Prevention and Restorative Initiatives Coordinator, and Kylee Dickinson-Collins, Outreach & Development Specialist, for representing VSS and presenting our Alcohol Misuse Prevention Integration Initiative.

Their presentation highlighted how alcohol misuse prevention can be integrated into existing programs, outreach efforts, and community partnerships to create sustainable impact for individuals, families, and communities. The presentation also explored the intersection of alcohol misuse with domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse, emphasizing the importance of addressing these issues through coordinated prevention, education, and community support strategies.

The opportunity to learn from fellow prevention leaders, share ideas, and build partnerships was invaluable. We are grateful to OAMP for creating space for collaboration, innovation, and meaningful conversations about prevention.

Together, we can build healthier, safer communities throughout New Mexico.
