It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Retired Volunteer Firefighter Del Deanda.

Del was truly one of a kind—a great person, a dedicated firefighter, and a friend to many. Her years of service and the impact she made on our fire family and community will never be forgotten.

Our deepest condolences go out to her family, friends, and fellow firefighters.

Rest easy, Del. Thank you for your service. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Yesterday, the Los Lunas Fire Department had the opportunity to join the New Mexico State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Valencia County Fire Department after being invited by the State Fire Marshal’s Office to witness the fire alarm acceptance test at the Walmart Distribution Center.

Interagency collaboration like this strengthens relationships, promotes consistency in fire and life safety standards, and provides valuable opportunities to share knowledge and best practices. By working together, we help ensure that critical fire protection systems are properly tested and ready to protect employees, visitors, and emergency responders.

Thank you to the New Mexico State Fire Marshal’s Office for the invitation and to everyone involved for their continued commitment to fire and life safety. Through teamwork and collaboration, we continue to build safer communities.
