The Tellico Village Volunteer Fire Department (TVVFD) Fundraising Committee needs a volunteer to join the Committee and be the writer/editor for the TVVFD newsletter. The ideal candidate will have the ability to apply English, spelling, and usage rules to articles for the newsletter, published twice a year. The volunteer will need to edit in MS Word, write headlines and captions, and coordinate with the graphic designer and printer to ensure deadlines are met. Please send a note of interest outlining your qualifications to Jim Nelson, Chairman, TVVFD Fundraising Committee at [email protected].

Tellico Village Fire Department is looking for new volunteers to join one of the top departments in the state.

Please watch, share and, if you know a person you think would be perfect, hold them down and force them to watch. (You can also leave them tied up in a basket at the station. Someone will be by to take them in.)

Seriously, though, please share and give it some thought. It's a great department with great people who make a difference every day.

Yesterday marked the start of with the theme of this year being "Flammable Liquid Burns."

And some of you probably haven't even finished getting your "Burn Week cards" out to friends and family. Shame... (Especially after your neighbor made you those nice "Burn Awareness Week" banana muffins last year.)

To make up for that, you should probably read the following info. We've had a few close calls in the village recently.

"National Burn Awareness Week is a window of opportunity for organizations to mobilize burn, fire, and life safety educators to unite in sharing a common burn awareness and prevention message in our communities."
