Loudon Food Pantry

Loudon Food Pantry Loudon Food Pantry is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which provides food to households who are struggling to feed themselves.

We support Belmont, Canterbury, Chichester, and Loudon NH. When my daughter and I first relocated my bookkeeping company to Loudon we didn’t realize there was a food pantry in the same building we moved into. From time to time, we saw people coming in the building and leaving with food. So, we got curious and went to visit the business next door. It was Blessed Hope Food Pantry of Loudon. We spoke

with the owners, Betty and Henry Frost, and found they were open a few hours a week. We started to help them restock shelves and carry out food, etc. During this process we got to know the people that came to the pantry for help. In June of 2008 Betty and Henry Frost decided to retire and were trying to find someone to take over the pantry. Unfortunately there were no takers. This pantry helped people in Belmont, Canterbury, Chichester, Loudon and Epsom NH. We couldn’t stand by and let this happen! So, July 2008 we opened Loudon Food Pantry in the same location as Blessed Hope Food Pantry of Loudon.

😎 Myth of the Day! 😎

😯Myth: You need to be receiving government assistance to be able to use a food pantry.

🤓Fact: You do not need to receive government assistance to use a pantry. Many who do use pantries do not receive assistance while others use pantries to supplement the government assistance they do receive when it is not enough.

😍Volunteer of the Month - Meet Eric! 😍

We are proud to announce our volunteer highlight for January, Eric! Eric is a wonderful young man who has been volunteering weekly here at Loudon Food Pantry for two years. He is a wonderful part of our week and works very hard every time he comes in. Eric's favorite part of volunteering here is doing UPCs and dates, but what he really loves is being able to be a part of an amazing team.

Eric originally came to Loudon Food pantry when he was looking for volunteering opportunities outside of high school, and since he started here, he has continued even after graduating. Eric says he couldn’t be happier volunteering anywhere else.

When Eric is not here with us at the pantry he enjoys doing puzzles, making beautiful artwork, and being a part of a great team while bowling with his friends.

Eric, all of us here at Loudon Food pantry are so happy to have you as part of our amazing team. You make our days brighter every time you come in and volunteer with us. Thank you for the dedication and hard work you bring in with you each week!

🍪 Today is National Cookie Day! 🍪

Share your favorite flavor of cookie! We don't care if it's store bought, homemade, or a horrifying third option...like a 3am gas station oatmeal raisin cookie.

😍Volunteer of the Month - Meet Annabelle! 😍

December’s Volunteer of the Month is a wonderful young soul that has joined us here at Loudon Food Pantry recently, Annabelle. She first came to us to complete required school community service hours, but while working on those she quickly discovered that this is where she truly wants to be. What started as an obligation soon became something that Annabelle looks forward to each week.

Annabelle says that her favorite part about volunteering here at LFP is being given the chance to do something good, be helpful to the community, and spend the time with kind people. One of the things that stands out to Annabelle while she is volunteering is the supportive environment that is inside of the pantry. While she is learning new tasks, she greatly appreciates that everyone is so patient and encouraging to her, especially while she is still getting used to everything.

When Annabelle isn’t hard at work here she enjoys being active and curious about the world around her. She finds great joy in bird-watching, reading, sewing and even getting out on the court and playing tennis! She also shared how much she appreciates seeing the effort from everyone inside of the pantry, she knows how challenging the work can truly be but finds it wonderful that everyone here plays a part in supporting our community.

Thank you, Annabelle, for choosing us, we are so proud to hear all the joy that you have found here, and we are amazed every day with all your hard work, and willingness to jump in and learn any new task that we ask. You make LFP a better place, and we are thrilled to have you with us!

Just a friendly reminder: we are closed this week. All our Thanksgiving Boxes were handed out last week and our wonderful volunteers are enjoying the respite with their families.

Thank you to everyone (including volunteers) who has supported us through these difficult times! It is through your hard work and donations that we're able to feed people who need it!
