Green Springs Supervisor Rachel Jones

Green Springs Supervisor Rachel Jones Louisa County Board Of Supervisors, Green Springs District Representative My passion for Louisa County's unique energy and opportunities runs deep.

I proudly serve as a Independent member of the Louisa Board of Supervisors, representing the vibrant Green Springs District. Having called the Green Springs District home for over 25 years, specifically residing in Zion Crossroads, I bring to my role more than two decades of combined experience in community service and professional law enforcement. The Green Springs District of Louisa County is a

dynamic area, characterized by economic growth, residential expansion, and thriving industrial agriculture. Within our district, we cherish our smaller agriculture and hobby farms, as well as designated land conservation areas. I am dedicated to ensuring that the diverse interests of the citizens in the Green Springs District are heard and represented. My top priorities encompass:

Promoting Economic Development: It is imperative that we maintain the affordability of our county for all citizens while managing our growth responsibly. Smart growth strategies are essential as we expand to ensure we have the necessary resources to meet the evolving needs of our county. Empowering Louisa Public Schools: I am committed to supporting our local schools to serve as gateways of opportunity, providing pathways to advanced technology and workforce readiness. Additionally, bolstering our local law enforcement and emergency medical services (EMS) remains a priority. Preserving the Beauty of Louisa County: Addressing issues such as illegal dumping and littering is crucial to safeguarding the natural splendor of Louisa County and the Green Springs District. I am dedicated to implementing innovative initiatives to combat littering and maintain the pristine beauty of our district and county. It is where I began my career in 911 Emergency Communications back in 1996, and where I met and married my husband, a lifelong resident of Louisa in the Green Springs District. Together, we established our home in Zion Crossroads in 1998 and are now raising our two children here. My extensive involvement in our community has equipped me for my role as the Green Springs Representative. From my years as a professional Communications Officer and Police Officer to my volunteer work in emergency services and various youth programs, I have been deeply engaged in serving the needs of our community. Notably, I was recognized as an Allen and Allen Hometown Hero in 2014 for my contributions to the Zion Crossroads area. Throughout my law enforcement career, I concentrated on domestic violence and victim services programs, earning numerous accolades at both the federal and local levels, including the 1999 Louisa County Board of Supervisors Resolution for Outstanding Service in the Interest of Public Service. My family and I feel incredibly blessed to call Louisa County our home, and I am dedicated to ensuring its continued prosperity and well-being.

Virginia, like many parts of the US, remains in significant drought and groundwater remains at extremely low levels across the state. All users and businesses, especially those served by wells, are encouraged to practice mindful water use until the situation eases. Thank you for doing your part!
