Good evening, Fox Families!
This is your proud principal, Mr. Street, and I hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend. It is hard to believe that we are heading into the final week of the 2025–2026 school year. We only have four days left, and what an incredible year it has been for our Foxes!
I want to start by saying how proud I am of our students for the amazing job they did during SOL testing and all of our end-of-year assessments. They worked so hard, stayed focused, and truly gave their best effort. This has been a team effort from beginning to end, and I want to thank our staff, teachers, families, and students for the encouragement, support, and dedication that helped make this such a successful testing season. We are so proud of our Foxes!
On Tuesday, May 19th, we’re excited to celebrate our students with the 3–5 SOL Carnival. This will be a fun way to recognize all of their hard work and celebrate finishing strong. If you would like to volunteer, please sign up using this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A0B4DA9AE23ABFD0-62487096-35sol #/
Then on Wednesday, May 20th, we will celebrate our 5th grade, Pre-K, and Kindergarten Promotion Days. These are always such special moments for our students and families. If you have any questions about promotion ceremonies, please contact the front office.
On Thursday, May 21st, we will have an 11:00 dismissal as we wrap up another amazing school year together.
We also still have a limited number of yearbooks available for $25 for anyone interested in purchasing one, and we ask that all library books please be returned before the last day of school.
And as summer gets closer, don’t forget about the Summer Reading Challenge through our local library. It’s a great way to keep our students reading, learning, and growing all summer long. https://jmrl.org/challenges
Before I wrap up this final call of the school year, I just want to take a moment to speak from the heart.
To our teachers and staff—thank you. Thank you for the countless hours, the sacrifices, the early mornings, the late afternoons, and the love you pour into this school every single day. You are the heartbeat of M-NES and such an important part of the Louisa community. The impact you make on children’s lives goes far beyond the classroom, and I hope you truly know how appreciated and valued you are. It is an absolute honor to serve alongside each and every one of you.
And to our families—thank you for believing in me these last two years and for trusting me to serve as your principal. This is truly the greatest job I have ever had and the greatest honor of my professional career. I am so proud of the growth we have made together over the last two years, and I am over the moon excited about what’s ahead as we begin year three together. The future is incredibly bright at M-NES, and I am so grateful for the support, kindness, and love this community continues to show our school.
Thank you for making this such a special year.
Enjoy the rest of your evening, and we’ll see our Foxes bright and early tomorrow morning for one final great week together. Let’s finish strong by working hard, being kind, and leading the way.
Foxes out!
