Last night we were also fortunate to celebrate a member who recently retired, Joe Crooks (615). Joe served the citizens of Louisburg and Miami County for 29 years. Most people don’t realize how long that stent truly is. Joe has missed countless meals, family time, and sleep in order to respond when the pager goes off. Thank you, Joe, for your hard work and dedication. Please join us in congratulating Joe and this milestone. Enjoy the family time, sports events, hunting, and sleeping. You deserve it.

At our annual banquet, we had some important awards to hand out for the the milestone years of service our members put in at our department. Chief Rittinghouse presented each of the members with these accomplishment awards. Captain Josh Webber received his 25 years of service award, Lieutenant Brad Rudkin received his 5 years of service, and Firefighter Jake Conner received his 5 year of service award.
Thank you to all of our hard-working, dedicated members!

Fire Prevention starts early! Pre-school aged students learn to see firefighters and other community helpers as friends, and elementary aged students learn how to stay away from hot items, make an exit map of their homes, and call 9-1-1 in an emergency. Older students yet learn cooking safety and do more preventative activities. Happy Fire Prevention Month!
