Today looks like it will be one of the hottest days so far this year. Dangerous heat is expected across the region with the highest values across the St. Louis metro area. Highs will be in the low to mid 90s with afternoon and early evening heat indices between 105 and 109 degrees. The heat advisory has been expanded across the majority of the forecast area through this evening. Make sure to limit your exposure to the heat if possible. Be sure to drink plenty of water, avoid strenuous activity during the warmest part of the day, check on the elderly, and never leave kids or pets in the car.

Wednesday looks like it will be the hottest day thus far this year. Dangerous heat is expected across the St. Louis metro area and surrounding counties where highs will be in the lower to middle 90s and afternoon and early evening heat indices will be around 105 degrees, and a heat advisory is now in effect. The remainder of the region will be hot and humid as well with afternoon and early evening heat indices in the lower 100s. Make sure to limit your exposure to the heat if possible. Be sure to drink plenty of water, avoid strenuous activity during the warmest part of the day, check on the elderly, and never leave kids or pets in the car.

Pike County is now under a Tornado warning. Due to a tornadic Thunderstorm in western Pike County 70 MPH winds, Half Dollar size hail, and possible tornados. The NWS advises to seek shelter and move to an interior room of your home on the lowest level away from windows and doors.
