The Roll Call Foundation It all began with 3 Disabled Veterans, 2 Retired US Army Horses and 1 Mission, to Help One Person Everyday

The Roll Call Foundation Inc is an IRS 501, c3 nonprofit organization founded by 3 disabled veterans, to help our battle buddies in Kentucky and Texas. We also offer Equine Assisted Therapy to our friends, with the use our Registered American Paint Horse "Chief Mack" to teach those in wheelchairs to drive a buggy that is set up with wheelchair access and lock downs. They will then be able to drive

a horse in an arena or on the cart paths. We also offer programs for Veterans, Responders and Special Kids with Needs, where they can also do groundwork with Mack. The barn experience can be exciting for many folks, so we plan to enjoy sharing that with others. We continue to serve several guest every other Friday with our Wear Red Friday Free Lunches. And our newest program is doing events for the senior veterans and veteran widows at Morningpointe Senior Assisted Living in Louisville. If you would like to talk to us about our mission we would welcome the opportunity to share our story. 100% goes back to those we are helping, no salaries or overhead. Special Kids with Needs are extremely important to us as well. A special kid who was close to all of us in our community, and especially to my family, Jesse, succumbed to brain cancer at 17 His message for life was simple; “Help everyone you can.” His death left a hole in our hearts, and we try to carry out our promise to him of making sure his legacy lives on by trying to help others every day.

ROLL CALL SUNDAY 🇺🇸

Sunday is a day we feel should be about rest and reflection on what we have been blessed with.

Five years ago, Roll Call was just a simple idea. It wasn’t a grand plan or a roadmap to something big. It was simply a promise to help people. That was what was asked, and that is what we continue to do every day.

This past week I have spent most of my time coughing myself nearly to death and sounding like I swallowed a squeaky toy. The voice is still mostly gone and the coughing isn’t finished with me yet. While I have been slowing down, the mission hasn’t.

Today I’m still coughing, but we have a very full week ahead. Two ramps to build, a City Fair booth to prepare, Crusade for Children activities coming up, and more veterans to meet and assist. It sounds like a lot, but it becomes much easier because of the caring and special people who volunteer their time every day.

While I was home trying to recover, volunteers continued organizing the warehouse at Roll Call West. Medical supplies such as bed pads, Depends, wound care items, wheelchairs, bathroom safety equipment, and other essentials are now even better organized and ready to be distributed quickly when needed. As always, everything is provided FREE to those we serve.

Today I simply want to say THANK YOU.

Thank you to the person who gives an hour a week.
Thank you to the person who gives several days a week.
Thank you to those who donate, share our posts, answer the phones, build ramps, sort supplies, transport veterans, and quietly help behind the scenes.

Because of you, we can proudly say we are keeping Jesse’s promise and HELPING ONE PERSON EVERY DAY.

Enjoy today with your families and loved ones. We continue to pray for our friends who are sick, struggling, hurting, grieving, or serving away from home.

God Bless,
Don, Jim and David 🇺🇸

The file was closed the next morning.

🇺🇸 CRUSADE FOR CHILDREN WEEK 🇺🇸

Today we begin one of the most important traditions our Roll Call Family takes part in each year. We are once again collecting donations for Crusade for Children in memory of Jesse Schott.

Seventeen years ago during Crusade Weekend, I met a young boy with a smile, a heart for helping others, and a determination that would change my life forever. That boy was Jesse. What started as a chance meeting became a friendship, and before long he became part of our family.

Jesse loved Crusade for Children. Even while battling cancer, he never stopped thinking about helping other kids. In fact, he was still collecting donations just two days before his final hospitalization. That's the kind of young man he was.

Because of that, we continue this tradition every year in his honor.

This year, anyone who donates $25 or more will receive our special "Jesse's Promise" Challenge Coin while supplies last. We will be sharing updates and tracking our progress on Facebook throughout the week as we work toward presenting our final donation total to the Zoneton Fire Department on Sunday, June 7.

We are humbled to continue supporting a cause that meant so much to Jesse. His legacy lives on through every act of kindness, every donation, and every person who chooses to help someone else.

Thank you for helping us honor Jesse once again.

Nothing like a call from a veteran and now friend that says "100%" "I can't believe it"

We didn't do anything but listen and assist. The veteran who has cancer from exposure to radiation, they deserve it. Best part he didn't have to pay a dime to a legal group or anyone else. It's all HIS because he is one suffering.

NO SALARIES, and NO OVERHEAD pays off again for someone.

Roll Call Thursday 🇺🇸

Still down with this respiratory problem. The coughing continues and my dogs are convinced I swallowed their squeaky toys. My voice is making all kinds of strange sounds right now.

A huge thank you to the volunteers who have been making sure things are still happening while I’ve been slowed down. That means more than you know. Maybe tomorrow will be a much better day. Right now, that’s just a little hard to imagine.

Thank you all for always supporting us, encouraging us, and helping us continue the mission of helping one person every day.

We are also excited to announce we are planning an After Hours BURGER BURN and OPEN HOUSE to celebrate America’s 250th Birthday and officially welcome everyone to Roll Call West. We will be sharing the date and time sometime next week. We hope many of our Roll Call Family and friends can join us for a fun evening together.

Roll Call Wednesday 🇺🇸😷🤧🤒

The last several days have had me down with a seasonal cold. The coughing, sneezing and chills have had me feeling pretty rough.

I’m going to stay away from everyone one more day just to be safe. Sitting here not being able to do much is definitely not any fun for me. Time goes way too slow when you’re used to staying busy and helping others every day.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a little better and I can get back at it. Until then, everyone stay safe, stay healthy, and keep moving forward.

Thanks everyone. Have a great day.

Don
