The Roll Call Foundation

The Roll Call Foundation It all began with 3 Disabled Veterans, 2 Retired US Army Horses and 1 Mission, to Help One Person Everyday

The Roll Call Foundation Inc is an IRS 501, c3 nonprofit organization founded by 3 disabled veterans, to help our battle buddies in Kentucky and Texas. We also offer Equine Assisted Therapy to our friends, with the use our Registered American Paint Horse "Chief Mack" to teach those in wheelchairs to drive a buggy that is set up with wheelchair access and lock downs. They will then be able to drive

a horse in an arena or on the cart paths. We also offer programs for Veterans, Responders and Special Kids with Needs, where they can also do groundwork with Mack. The barn experience can be exciting for many folks, so we plan to enjoy sharing that with others. We continue to serve several guest every other Friday with our Wear Red Friday Free Lunches. And our newest program is doing events for the senior veterans and veteran widows at Morningpointe Senior Assisted Living in Louisville. If you would like to talk to us about our mission we would welcome the opportunity to share our story. 100% goes back to those we are helping, no salaries or overhead. Special Kids with Needs are extremely important to us as well. A special kid who was close to all of us in our community, and especially to my family, Jesse, succumbed to brain cancer at 17 His message for life was simple; “Help everyone you can.” His death left a hole in our hearts, and we try to carry out our promise to him of making sure his legacy lives on by trying to help others every day.

I just have to share something's that's happened on "K's" ramp build. I am doing my job and that's being the chair holder, and talking to folks. While talking to his mom I learned more about our little hero, who has Cerebral Palsy and a bad vascular condition. They have been carrying him in and out of the house. The ramp will serve the whole family now. He has a trach and is a very loving little boy. He loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

I got to share some of Jesse's Story and he's in heaven preparing for his birthday tomorrow by sending volunteers and new supporters today. Had a gentleman call and he wants to find a way for his organization to help us. We always say it's a God and Jesse Moment.

Jesse at Schimpf's Candy. We always loved our adventures.

ROLL CALL FRIDAY 🇺🇸

It’s a beautiful day, and we got the volunteers we needed. “K” is getting his ramp today.

The air feels fresh and it’s much easier to breathe. Thank you to Jack for always leading the way, Chief David, Brian from B2 Powerwashing, and Charlie for taking the time to be here and serve others.

This morning, I’m sitting on the front porch just a-rockin’… no Charlotte Johnson though, if you know the song.

My legs are not willing to participate much today. MS stinks.

But days like this remind me that even when our bodies slow us down, our mission doesn’t stop. Seeing volunteers step up and help a family in need is a blessing and a reminder of why we do what we do.

Every ramp we build is more than wood and screws. It’s independence, dignity, and a little bit of hope delivered right to someone’s front door.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our mission.

ROLL CALL THURSDAY 🇺🇸

Not only is it Pizza Day for The Roll Call Foundation, it’s also another difficult day for me.

Eight years ago tonight, while in the hospital, Jesse successfully completed his Eagle Scout Board of Review. Immediately afterward, I had the honor of shaking his hand and presenting him with his Eagle Scout Award medal.

A couple of years earlier, Jesse told me he had one goal — to earn the rank of Eagle Scout before he turned 17 years old. He accomplished that goal just two days before his 17th birthday.

One week after receiving his Eagle Rank, Jesse passed away.

Today is a reminder that life can be incredibly fragile, but also that a person’s legacy can live on forever. Jesse loved America, loved serving others, and understood the importance of leaving the world a little better than he found it.

His passion for collecting and retiring American flags continues today. Because of his vision, nearly 4,000 flags have been collected at the mailbox at Zoneton Fire Department for proper retirement.

Mission success, little buddy. 🇺🇸

Please also remember that today is our Shepherdsville Domino’s Pizza Fundraiser. If you’re able, order lunch or dinner and help support The Roll Call Foundation. Every order helps us continue our mission of Helping One Person Every Day.

Thank you for remembering Jesse with us today.

A promise that became a mission.

Watching the World Cup match Uzbekistan vs Colombia in honor of our Co Founder David Naranjo Cardona who's family is Colombian.

As soon as I tune in a GOAL for Colombia by an incredible kick inside the box. An amazing score

It's time and we are thrilled to announce our progress. Rob and Corby have been diligently working behind the scenes to bring us to this point. Although we have been facing challenges in obtaining a vinyl wrap due to limited services in Bowling Green, we are pleased with the overall advancements. Many supporters have contributed to our efforts by purchasing Challenge Coins to help cover fuel expenses, while others have made generous cash donations to assist in outfitting the boat. We are set to launch on July 1, 2026, with Veterans and First Responders. Following this inaugural event, we invite you to visit our webpage to schedule your trip. We are also excited to announce that additional boats will be joining us to accommodate larger groups of our Heroes on our excursions. Please note that a Kentucky fishing license, valid for either a day or a year, is required for participation.

Please share. Tomorrow, our community has an opportunity to support an organization that spends every day helping others.

The Roll Call Foundation provides direct support to veterans, seniors, first responders, and families throughout our region. A portion of all sales at Domino’s in Shepherdsville tomorrow will be donated to help continue that mission.

If you're planning lunch tomorrow, simply choosing Domino’s instead of another restaurant will help support people in our community who need it most. As a thank you for supporting the cause, you can use code GIVE for 25 percent off your order.

This is one of our last chances to help spread the word.

ROLL CALL WEDNESDAY 🇺🇸

This week is moving a lot faster than I am.

We have a need tomorrow for a few extra volunteers to help us install a ramp for a young boy with adaptive needs. K and his family have patiently waited, and now we have the ramp we needed — we just need you.

📍 8:30 AM start at Roll Call West

Today will be filled with appointments at our main office helping veterans, then it’s back to VA Zorn Hospital for testing with one of our Vietnam Veterans.

Yesterday, my GPS tried to help me avoid the I-65 construction, only to lead me into even more construction all over town. A normal 25-30 minute drive turned into a two-hour adventure. Today, I’m going to trust my own knowledge of the streets and see how that works out.

We are only 24 hours away from our Shepherdsville Domino’s Pizza Fundraiser!

If you’re able, please consider ordering a pizza for lunch or dinner tomorrow and help support our mission.

📅 Don’t forget to join us on June 30th at Roll Call West for our After Hours Open House.

The guys are ready to fire up the grill with burgers and hot dogs as we welcome everyone to learn more about our mission. We will also be celebrating America’s upcoming 250th Birthday a little early.

Thank you for supporting The Roll Call Foundation and helping us continue our promise that became a mission:

🇺🇸 ROLL CALL TUESDAY 🇺🇸
Yesterday I posted that our Domino’s Fundraiser was tomorrow, but that was a lie… it’s actually THURSDAY this week! 🍕 No code is necessary, just visit the Shepherdsville location and help support our mission.

I had a great time sharing a meal with fellow veterans at our Military Officers Association monthly meeting. Spending time with like-minded people is always a boost for me. Many of them have helped and continue to support our mission at The Roll Call Foundation.

A dear friend, Lynn Romans, was our guest speaker today. She is a Gold Star Mother and a tireless advocate for our military service members and veterans through her work in a congressional office. Hearing her tell her family’s story about Darrin’s death in Iraq is always difficult for me.

While serving on Headquarters Staff in 2003, I actually saw the after-action report, never knowing that years later I would come to know and call his mother a dear friend.

Now I’m at VA Zorn and ran into another friend, our Shepherdsville VFW Commander. It’s a big place, but it sure feels small when you’re part of the veteran community. ☕️ Smelling the coffee is making me want to grab a cup.

We are also looking for volunteers to help with a couple of ramp installs near our office. If you’re available and willing to lend a hand, please send me a message.

Have a great day, everyone.

A promise that became a mission.
