MUSCL MUSCL is a charitable non-profit community ministry that assists neighbors in the 40213, 40217, 40219

We want to make donors, volunteers and clients aware of the services MUSCL provides. MUSCL helps with rent and utilities in emergency situations, trying to ensure residency for 30 days. MUSCL advocates and negotiates with landlords and utility companies on their behalf. MUSCL also runs a food pantry for clients on site and a clothes closet for anyone with an ID at nearby Fourth Presbyterian and st

affed by volunteers. MUSCL provides volunteers for Meals on Wheels to deliver meals to those neighbors in their care area and also provides volunteers to assist Dare to Care with the commodities program for seniors in their care area. In FY 2014, 2,139 families and 5,795 individuals were helped by MUSCL services. A total of $168,355.84 was spent for direct client services thanks to grants from Louisville Gas & Electric, Louisville Metro Government, Louisville Water Company and donations from churches, businesses and individuals.

Louisville households can apply for LIHEAP Fall Subsidy from Jan. 6 to March 27, 2026, to help with heating costs during the colder months.
Eligible households with income up to 150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines may qualify for a one-time benefit. This program covers heating costs for electric, natural gas, propane, coal, wood, or fuel oil. Benefits are paid directly to the energy vendor, and no disconnect notice or past-due bill is required to apply.
Assistance received during previous LIHEAP components does not affect eligibility. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
To schedule an appointment, call 502-991-8391 or visit online at louisvilleky.cascheduler.com/ . After scheduling an appointment, please be sure to bring all required documentation on the day of your appointment.
