This summer, as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of America’s founding, we are excited to invite all children (K-8) to join in the Second Lady’s 2026 Summer Reading Challenge. Participants will read and track 12 books of their choice between June 1 and September 4. Every book counts!

We had our last Doves Reading Event of the year yesterday in the library! Days spent reading with our Doves are days spent surrounded by stories and joy! This year, WAGS furry friend, Millie the Mighty Morkie has joined us a few times, and we’ve even had some super special guest student readers! The Westport Library loves our Doves team, and we wish them the very best summer of READING! ☀️📘💙

We can’t say enough how the diversity of Westport makes it simply the best place to be! Come check out our selection of books from Arab American authors, as well as those with characters that bring the rich Arab American culture to the pages!
