After the Air Quality Alert on June 4, it's important to know what ozone pollution is. It's a colorless gas that occurs both in the Earth's upper atmosphere and at ground level. Sensitive groups to ozone pollution include children, older adults, those with asthma, COPD and other breathing ailments, and any other residents that are active outdoors.

ICYMI: The West End Women's Collaborative has been awarded the 2026 Lawn Care for Cleaner Air Community Equipment Grant. The grant promotes the use of electric-powered equipment by awarding a package of items like an electric mower, trimmer and a rechargeable battery.

The air quality forecast is expected to be "Moderate" today through Wednesday for Particulate Matter.
