We’ve been receiving a LOT of calls and messages about people needing to surrender their pets. Last week we had 14 different people reach out in one day asking us to take their animals. We really aren’t set up for that. Two days after that specific day, we picked up 6 dogs… in one day. Thankfully we found their people so they left quickly but imagine if they didn’t get reunited so fast….we would be overflowing and then some.
We do understand that things come up, though. So instead of just saying no, we’re trying something new!!

This is not just for cats and dogs! You can post birds, livestock, etc. Please just keep it within Clay County.
This is just a space for people to connect. We are NOT involved in the rehoming process, we do not screen the adopters, and we are not responsible for anything that happens. Please use your best judgement.
Our goal here is to help keep animals out of the shelter and get them into homes faster. It’s not that we don’t want to help! We have to keep space open for emergencies and stray animals we pick up.
