Dispose of old tires for free at the upcoming Waste Tire Collection Event! Any Kentucky resident or business is eligible to drop off an unlimited number of tires.

Dates: October 1–3
Hours: Thursday & Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | Saturday: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Location: 1030 Phillips Lane (Across from the Kentucky Exposition Center)

Accepted:
• Tires on or off the rim
• Truck, light truck, and passenger
• Tractor and farm implement
• Bicycle, motorcycle, golf cart, ATV

Not Accepted:
• Foam filled or calcium filled
• Off-road construction or rubber tracks
• Solid tires with or without press-on rims
• Any tires generated outside of KY
• Tires from tire retailers, scrap/salvage yards, and recycling businesses

Mosquitoes carrying the West Nile virus have been detected in local surveillance traps by the LMPHW Mosquito Control team. Mosquito fogging is scheduled for tonight, September 15, weather permitting, in the Portland area (see map).

Visit the department's website (link below) to see current mosquito spraying areas and maps and prevention resources.
• For fogging updates call the Mosquito Fogging Hotline at 502-574-6641.
• Report mosquito concerns to Metro311 by dialing 311 or 502-574-5000.
