Today marks the 40th anniversary of the Refugee Act of 1980.

"On March 17, 1980 President Jimmy Carter signed the Refugee Act into law, and with it, established the US Refugee Admissions Program and codified the right to asylum." - Refugee Council USA

We were looking forward to celebrating the 7th annual Refugee and Immigrant Day at the Capitol in Frankfort today, but we can still celebrate and advocate from afar! Our staff remains committed to making Kentucky a welcoming place for all.
