KATC's Fall Virtual Training Series (in partnership with Aetna) kicks off September 2. Four 1-hour virtual sessions for school staff and professionals, covering puberty, de-escalation, elopement safety, and sensory eating. Caregivers are welcome to join live sessions too.

Sept. 2: Supporting Children through Puberty
Sept. 9: De-escalation Strategies
Sept. 16: Elopement Prevention and Safety Planning
Sept. 23: Sensory Side of Eating

Plans changed. Is a meltdown next?

In Week 2 of KATC’s School-to-Home Caregiver Series, we’re exploring social narratives—a practical way to help autistic children, teens, and young adults understand what is happening, what may change, and what they can do next.

Social narratives won’t make every autistic person comfortable with change. But the right words, pictures, and preparation can make an unexpected situation feel less confusing and overwhelming.

This week’s newsletter includes:
