Drumroll please....our Corporate Challenge participants raised $62,500 and donated 1500 pounds of food!🎉 We are beyond grateful for their support of Fuel Their Summer through our corporate challenge campaign. This is what happens when local businesses roll up their sleeves, sprinkle in some competition, and pour their hearts into fighting hunger in our community.

Every dollar raised and pound of food donated turns into fresh groceries and full shopping carts for our neighbors in Boulder and Broomfield counties. To every company and employee who showed up to participate with us this year: YOU did this! 👏 You all prove that a little friendly competition can do a world of good. Eight thousand one hundred and two. Your generosity during our Fuel Their Summer food drive brought in 8,102 pounds of food to give back to families in our community. To put it in perspective, that's the same weight as a full grown hippo, not a small amount and its going straight to the shelves for our neighbors. And a huge thank you to our partners for helping us achieve this number. This is what community looks like and we are so grateful to be a part of it!

Our first Family Day gave families a chance to volunteer together, learn together, and see the work behind getting food to neighbors across Boulder and Broomfield Counties. 💚 Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day such a success!

Kids and adults helped pack 1,800 pounds of beans and sort 2,137 pounds of potatoes, while also spending time on creative activities and learning more about Community Food Share’s warehouse.

It was a meaningful way for families to connect service with real impact, and a reminder that community care can be something kids experience up close.

“Before a student can learn, participate, or even speak… they need to be fed.”

For nearly 30 years, Windy has worked with students at Aspen Creek K-8 helping them find their voices. But over the years, she’s learned something just as important: hunger changes everything.

“We don’t want any kid to go without,” she says. “It’s an equalizer.”

From stocking snacks in her office to helping run the school’s food pantry, Windy helps make sure students and families have access to the food they need, quietly, compassionately, and without judgment.

But when summer begins and school meals disappear, many families are left facing even harder choices.

School may be out, but hunger isn’t taking a summer break. ☀️🍎

Join us for the Fuel Their Summer Food Drive on Saturday, June 13 and help provide meals for local kids and families facing hunger this summer.

We’ll be at participating King Soopers locations from 9 AM – 5 PM collecting food and donations to help fuel summer for our community.

For Shannon, summer means higher grocery bills and trying to stretch every dollar a little further.

“During the summertime, I lose the school-provided breakfast and lunch support, and that is a big chunk of my income,” she says.

Last summer, Shannon visited the food bank almost every week to help feed her three children.
