This weekend, the unit qualifed on their individual weapon systems including the M4 carbine, M17 handgun, and M249 SAW. Other crew served weapon systems included the M2, Mk19 and M240b. This critical training event ensures soldiers are capable and lethal on their assigned weapon.

Last month, we were honored to attend the commissioning ceremony for 2LT Wright from State OCS. 2LT Wright was the Readiness NCO for the 101st MCP-OD for over a year. He was instrumental in the success of the unit in managing all the administrative tasks throughout the month. 2LT Wright was commissioned as an aviation officer in the KYARNG. Good luck 2LT Wright!

The 101st MCPOD held their Christmas lunch today where we celebrated our yearly accomplishments, promotions, awards, and those who have been serving in the Army National Guard from 3 to 10 years. We look forward to next year and the the great things that we will accomplish. Happy Holidays to everyone and we can't wait to see what 2025 has in store for us!

The 101st MCPOD started their November drill weekend with a communication/radios class and a land nav/map reading class. The soldiers learned how effective both of these skills are to know during their time in the Army. We also want to give a big congratulations to SSG Fulton on his promotion today. The soldiers of the 101st MCPOD had a busy weekend. They started off by heading down to Boone National Guard Center in Frankfort, KY on Friday and Saturday to complete their Periodic Health Assessment and Soldier Readiness Program to ensure they are maintaining good health and ready to fight if the call is made.
On Sunday, the soldiers conducted the Army Physical Fitness Test in the morning to show that they are physically fit to the Army standards. The weekend came to a conclusion with promotions to now SGT Bush, SGT Carpenter, SPC Brightwell and SPC Nachazel. Congratulations to the four of you, we can't wait to see what the future holds.

The 101st MCPOD held their annual training at Fort Campbell, KY from Aug. 2 to Aug. 10th with our counterparts of the 101st Airborne (Air Assault) Division. It was a great week of integration training and our soldiers got to learn a lot about their jobs.

At the end of the week, coins were given out to SPC Ross, SPC James and SPC Durbin from Lt. Col. Ford of the 101st Division for their hard work and effort throughout the week.

On Wednesday, July 17th at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, the 101st MCP-OD had a change of command ceremony in which MAJ Joshua Birchfield relinquished MAJ Adam Disney and 1SG Derek Patterson assumed responsibility for WOC 1 Adron Wilson Jr.

MAJ Disney and WOC 1 Wilson Jr., you will be missed, and we wish you both the best of luck on your next assignments. Your leadership has made a lasting impact on the soldiers of the unit.

MAJ Birchfield and 1SG Patterson, we are excited to welcome you and your families and look forward to the next chapter as you both lead the soldiers of the 101st MCP-OD.
