It was an awesome day to network with other fire departments from across the state of Kentucky at the 2026 State Farm Kentucky Fire & Safety Summit hosted at the The Filson Historical Society. Great to gain knowledge in Fire Prevention Public Education and Community Risk Reduction.

Fire Prevention Week is October 4–10, 2026.
“Charge Into Fire Safety. Safe Charging Is a Superpower” focuses on the everyday charging habits that can help reduce the risk of lithium-ion battery fires and keep homes and communities safer.

Plug in. Power up. Stay safe.

For some of us, the day will remain etched in our memory. As it happened, the entire country was confused and scared. We didn’t know what was going on. The devastation was unimaginable and we didn’t know if there would be more to come.

Some Americans sacrificed their lives for others that day.

- 40 courageous passengers on United Flight 93 overrun the terrorists and crashed their plane in Sumerset County, PA before it reached its target.
- 403 First responders who answered the call that day didn’t make it.
And, there were many more.

- 2,343 U.S. troops were killed in Operation Enduring Freedom, the U.S. government name for the Global War on Terrorism that followed the attacks on 9/11.
- 1,609 People lost a spouse or partner in the attacks.
- 3,051 Children who lost a parent.
- 56 million, or 20 percent of the U.S. population in 2001 (estimate), knew someone hurt or killed in the attacks.

Fairdale Fire & EMS is wrapping up the final day of the 2026 Kentucky State Fair. It was a busy for all departments that participated. Kids and adults learned a few fire safety tips.

Make sure to come out and see us at the Kentucky State Fair today! Last day of the fair so come get your fair food and meet your local firefighters. Lots of goodies for the kiddos!

Anchorage Middletown Fire & EMS Community Risk Reduction spent an awesome Saturday & Sunday at the 2026 Kentucky State Fair spreading fire safety.

Pleasure Ridge Park Fire District - Official will be there tomorrow 8/24 & Tuesday 8/25. Come spin their prize wheel, answer a fire safety question and win a prize!
