Breaking news :/ farewell to lighting
A giant crane has been brought in to dismantle the old Greased Lightning Roller Coaster that Six Flags Amusement Company first opened at Six Flags Great America in 1978, before moving it to Kentucky Kingdom in 2003.

There was a time, there was a place

We know what ride will be taking out of Kentucky kingdom. It's hard to say good bye but you have to go greazzed lighting :( here some history about the ride- greazzed lighting open at Kentucky kingdom in 2005 and it was the second roller coaster that six flags added to Kentucky kingdom. Greazzed lighting was the fastest, quickest ride in the park. It went 0-60 in 6 seconds and then went backwards after you go air time of the first hill. Greazzed lighting will always be in our hearts.
R.I.P Geazzed lighting 2005-2013 you be missed :'(

Kentucky kingdom will reopen in 2014 under the lease of Ed Hart. Hart says that Kentucky kingdom will have all the ride besides one steel coaster. :/ but he is doubling the water park and add 2 new rides for the reopening of Kentucky kingdom of May of next year. Lets go Hart :)
