Hawthorne Elementary School Spanish Immersion Magnet School | Escuela Magnet de Inmersión en Español

Hawthorne Elementary is nestled in the Highlands between the cities of Strathmoor and Wellington and near both Sullivan University and the Farmington Historic Plantation. We are proud to be the only public school in Jefferson County, and only one of two in the State of Kentucky, offering two-way immersion in Spanish and English.

June is Pride Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the contributions, history, and experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals and communities.

At Hawthorne, we are proud to be a school where every student and family deserves to feel welcomed, valued, respected, and included. Our diversity is one of our greatest strengths, and we are grateful for the many backgrounds, identities, cultures, and experiences that make our community unique.

As we prepare for a new chapter, we want to recognize our incredible Early Childhood staff as they transition to the new Early Childhood Center this August. Thank you for your years of dedication, love, patience, and commitment to the students and families of Hawthorne. Your impact has helped shape countless young lives, and your presence will be deeply missed within our halls. While it is hard to say goodbye, we are so excited for the opportunities ahead and know that your new school community will be so lucky to have each of you. Hawthorne’s Lemonade Day was one for the books! 🍋💛 From the smiles to the teamwork, it was amazing to see our students shine while having so much fun. A huge thank you to our incredible fourth grade teachers and students for all the hard work, planning, and dedication that made this sweet day such a success!
