Our Criminal Law II: Capital Punishment class staged its end-of-semester project in a mock trial courtroom reserved for the day at the Jefferson County Law Library. The project consisted of two death penalty sentencing trials in which students played every role, from attorneys and judges to jurors, witnesses, and even members of the media.”.

The JCPLL will close at noon today so that Chris, our community outreach specialist, can run in the Kentucky Oaks. Note: Chris is not a jockey and will be competing on-foot.

JCPLL will be open tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27th. But we have made the decision to cancel the Legal Help Center to preserve the safety of our volunteers and patrons. We are working on rescheduling all appointments and will be in contact with those who had scheduled appointments about the next steps. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

JCPLL operates on the same schedule as the Jefferson County Courts and will be closed tomorrow Monday, January 26th. Everyone stay safe and warm.

Due to inclement weather, all Jefferson County Courts will be CLOSED Monday, January 26. WILL HAVE essential staff available for bonds & domestic violence/mental health petitions. In-custody arraignments will be held at 11 a.m. (Attorneys may appear remotely.) Kentucky Courts
