ABOUT OUR DIRECTOR
Central Kentucky native Tina Broaddus Gibson is a music educator, conductor, trumpet player, and patron of the arts. She holds a Certificate of Advanced Study in School Administration from SUNY Cortland, a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from the University of Louisville, and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Louisville. While at the University of Louisville
Tina served as the Drum Major of the Cardinal Marching Band, and was a McConnell Scholar for Leadership as well as a Trusteeβs Scholar. During her teaching career of over twenty years she has taught Band, Chorus, Orchestra, Musical Theatre, Elementary Music, Marching Band, and Collegiate Music Education and Music History courses to students ranging in ages from 3 to 73. Gibson is a music educator for the Jefferson County Public Schools having previously taught for the Horseheads Central School District, New York, the Louisville Archdiocese, Jefferson Community and Technical College, and the University of Louisville. She is the current president of District 12 of the Kentucky Music Educators Association, serves on her schoolβs Site Based Decision Making team, and is the Director of the Musical Theatre Program which she founded in 2014. In recent years she has enjoyed being a guest honor band conductor and a musical festival judge. Tina is supported in everything she does by her husband and two daughters, all of whom are heavily involved in the arts.
