This Monday, June 1st 2026 a letter and packet of information will be delivered to all Metro Council members concerning Mayor Craig Greenberg's proposed defunding or reduction of the annual $132,996 to $20,000 appropriation for maintenance as required by Kentucky state law protecting the community's war memorial and public auditorium.

This packet will include the following:

Please see the local vendors and companies that do business with the auditorium who will be impacted economically if Mayor Craig Greenberg is successful in defunding the Louisville Commission who owns and operates the landmark as created from Kentucky state legislation:

A & M Electric
Louisville Labor Company
A1 Vac / Highlands
Jarl Security
Ware Boilers
Beacon Electric Company
Highland Roofing
Oscar's Hardware
Gist Piano
Spectra Imaging
Cubero Design Group
Executive Elevator Company
Carefree Lawn Care
Kingsley Meats & Deli
Donohue Signs
Keyserve Mechanical
Vending Systems, Inc.

It seems Mayor Greenberg doesn't care about local business either!

This is the HVAC estimate to make the 100 year old community war memorial and public auditorium comfortable while protecting the landmark from further plaster and paint damage.

Mayor Craig Greenberg does not see the value in supporting Veterans or the community!

In the big picture, it would be a small one time investment that would create more of economic impact in Old Louisville and downtown Louisville.

With a city budget of $1.2 billion dollars, the Derby City should be able to afford such an investment!

Last time we checked, the historic Louisville Memorial Auditorium is located in Old Louisville and on a seasonal basis invites 200,000 guests attending event to the wonderful neighborhood, while providing an estimated $3 million economic impact.

Louisville Tourism provided the data a few years back after completing a business study.

State lawmakers allocated $3 million to the revitalization effort focused on the Fourth and Oak corridor.
