PUBLIC NOTICE

The City of Louisville and the Louisville Fire Department are aware of the smoke currently impacting the City of Louisville.

After a thorough investigation, we have confirmed that the smoke is coming from a large-scale controlled burn located south of town and well outside the city limits of Louisville. A burn permit appears to have been obtained through the Mississippi Forestry Commission. At this time, to our knowledge, the fire is under control and is being conducted for land management purposes.

We understand the smoke may be a concern to some residents. We are continuing to monitor the situation and are hopeful that changing weather conditions will allow the smoke to rise and clear out quickly.

If you have an EMERGENCY, please call 911. For non-emergency concerns, you may contact the Louisville Fire Department directly.

Louisville Trash Talk: due to the hard freeze and trash bins are mostly frozen shut, leave your trash bins curbside until they are collected. As of now, Monday collection will be on Tuesday, Tuesday collection on Wednesday, and we ask for patience until City of Louisville Solid Waste can catch up this week.

Be safe, stay warm…..
