City of Louisville is a Colorado municipality with approximately 20,000 resident

s. The City, incorporated in 1882, lies in Boulder County roughly six miles east of the City of Boulder and 25 miles northwest of Denver. At this time, the City owns, either alone or in conjunction with other governmental entities, approximately 1,700 acres of designated open space. The residential size of the City is not likely to grow significantly as there is little room. Commercial and industrial growth are expected, however, as there is room for both in Centennial Valley and the Colorado Tech Center.

Halloween Costume Exchange: Re-scare and Re-wear! Let’s make Halloween Eek-o-Friendly with a Halloween costume exchange.

Now through October 2, we're collecting your good-condition, unwanted Halloween costumes!

Costume Drop Off Locations:
Louisville Public Library - box located in the main entrance 951 Spruce St, Louisville
Superior Civic Space box at the front desk area of 2250 Main St, Ste 1001, Superior

This year’s Halloween Costume Exchange will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 5-7 p.m. on the 1st floor of the Louisville Library at the top of the stairs.

Come by the event where we will be distributing costumes first come, first served throughout the event.

Any donated costumes not distributed during the event will be donated to the Sister Carmen Thrift Store.

Heads up! There is going to be a trail closure on the Coal Creek Trail at Dutch Creek for Bridge Plank Replacement Tuesday, Sept. 1 and Wednesday, Sept. 2 from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The Open Space team will be replacing degraded planks on the Dutch Creek bridge. The work will require a daytime closure of the trail segment between Augusta Lane to the Dutch Creek pocket prairies.

Detour information:
- There will be no through access at the closure.

- Anyone who reaches the closure will be required to turn around and return to the posted detour route.

- The detour follows the Powerline Trail via Dillon Road and West Cherry Street and will add approximately half a mile to travel along the Coal Creek Trail.

- Signs will be posted in the area to direct trail users around the closure.

Please plan for additional travel time, especially if you use the trail for commuting.

We understand this work will disrupt a heavily traveled route and appreciate your patience and cooperation in following posted detour signs while we complete the project.
