🔍 TRANSPARENCY IN ACTION: Quality of Life Preservation

Transparency remains a primary focus of LPD in keeping our community informed.

Today, we have issued formal cure notices as part of our ongoing campaign to preserve and protect the quality of life in our neighborhoods. By working with property owners and their tenants to resolve these issues, we can ensure the nuisances stop while ensuring everyone's quality of life is preserved.

Instead of repetitively ticketing juveniles, we will be holding the responsible adults accountable, should these activities continue.

These notices address violations of local ordinances and state laws including:
🏍 Operation of off-road vehicles on public streets
🚫 Illegal parking that blocks traffic flow and creates hazards
🔊 Excessive noise from vehicles and gatherings
⛔️ Stopping/standing in roadways that impede traffic

Your peace and safety remain our priority, and we appreciate your continued partnership in making Louisville a better community. We will continue to provide updates as we work together to preserve the quality of life we all deserve.

The seasons of rural policing:
❄️ Winter: Deer playing Frogger
☀️ Summer: The biggest rattlesnakes I have ever seen in my life having meetings in the roadway
🌸 Spring: Cows convinced the grass is greener on the other side of the highway

We are currently in "spring" and, thankfully, no burgers were made in the filming of this video on Hwy 130 😅

Please stay alert on our roads... wildlife (and livestock) don't always pick the straightaways for their road crossings!

Sometimes, having an extra set of eyes watching out for you or your loved ones can make all the difference. That's why we're launching Care Check - turning traditional wellness checks into proactive community care.

Whether it's an elderly parent living alone or a child home after school, Care Check provides scheduled safety visits tailored to individual needs. Think of it as having a trusted neighbor checking in, except this neighbor wears a badge and has emergency services on speed dial.
