Reproductive Rights for Kentucky

Reproductive Rights for Kentucky Reproductive Rights For Kentucky PAC was formed to fight to for the rights of women across Kentucky The U.S.

House of Representatives passed a bill that would ban abortions after 20 weeks. Co-sponsors of this legislation were four Kentucky Representatives, namely Tom Massie, Brett Guthrie, Andy Barr and Hal Rogers. While it is unlikely that this bill will pass in the U.S. Senate, and would surely be vetoed by the President, it is this type of legislation that escalating and gaining strength in state legi

You must vote! Not the time to sit home.
This May primary decides who will be on the ballot for this November midterm election.
Do NOT cast a “one issue” or “protest” vote. Every vote is needed!

Remember U.S. Senators confirm federal judges - i.e. Supreme Court Justices.
VOTE WISELY.

RRFKY will vet and endorse all the candidates after the May primary. SO get the best ones elected and help us support them.
RRFKY is the only pro-choice, federal multi-candidate PAC in Kentucky. Our mission and purpose are to be a non-partisan, Kentucky focused, political action committee that supports, both publicly and financially, those state and federal elected officials and viable candidates who safeguard women's rights.

As we have started RRFKY's fundraising, please contribute either at RRFKY's secure website by credit card (Visa, Master Card, American Express or Discover): www.RRFKY.org

How to Vote in Kentucky’s May Primary
Tuesday May 19 2026

To request an Absentee ballot: the Portal is open til May 5, 2026.

Three ways for Kentucky voters to vote in person:
1) Excused In-person Early Voting: May 6, 7, 8 and May 11, 12, 13, 2026.
2) In-person No Excuse Early Voting: May 14, 15, 16, 2026.
3) In-person on Election Day: Tuesday May 19, 2026.
For Jefferson County locations to vote and who your elected officials are: Where Do I Vote?

BALLOTS
Want to vote “straight party” and also vote for an opposing candidate whose name appears on the ballot for a specific race? That vote will be counted for the opposing candidate for that specific race and the remaining votes on the ballot will be counted for the straight political party.
A “straight party” vote does NOT count for the non-partisan races; vote those separately.

You do not have to vote for every race on the ballot. Just vote for one person and your ballot is valid.

DO NOT accept a ‘Provisional Ballot”. Kentucky is one of four states that list ONLY federal races on provisional ballots. You will not be able to vote for any local, state, federal or judicial races.

An absentee ballot has to be in the County Clerk’s office by 6 p.m. ON Election Day – NOT postmarked. Better to drop it in one of the drop boxes. To check the status of your absentee ballot: https://vrsws.sos.ky.gov/vic/

Kentucky law mandates that an employer must give their employees four hours off to vote. This is without pay.

Polls open on Tuesday, May 19 at 6 a.m., close at 6 p.m. local time. If in line at 6 p.m., you can vote.

You will need to provide one of these identifications to vote:
U.S. or Kentucky government-issued identification card such as Driver’s license, passport, or any other form of ID containing both picture and signature. The id can be expired.

Hard of hearing or vision impaired? Every polling place has touch screen voting machines.

If your name is not on voting roster at the polls:
Talk to the onsite Election Supervisor. He/she will call the Election Center to see if your eligibility to vote is valid.
If still not resolved, go to the Election Center or the County Clerk’s to appeal to the Board of Elections. You will get an "order" that you take back to your precinct to vote.
If that does not resolve the issue, you can appeal to the onsite Circuit Court Judge, who can overrule the Board. The judge will give you a Court Order that you take back to your precinct to vote. AND all of this must be done before 6 p.m. on Election Day – SO VOTE EARLY to correct any issues.

Emergency Medical Ballots:
If you become sick or are in the hospital, you can request a paper absentee ballot until May 19. Call your county clerk’s office.

To borrow Dolly Parton’s line: RRFKY ain’t dead yet!
It has been a long 21 months in the tech rabbit hole of gateways, processors, plugins, with all having to be in compliance with FEC and PCI. We “destroyed” one company that just could not make this work. (BTW please send a hug to Keshia Swan who fought this battle for RRFKY with courage, fortitude and resilience. The bodies of high level tech people are piled high who had no idea what they were talking about, and fill many hours and emails.)

While RRFKY will only endorse federal and Kentucky state candidates in the November General Election, we urge ALL of you to make sure you are registered correctly in your state, and urge everyone you know to check their registration and get to/take people to the polls. (Information for Kentucky voters below.)

A reminder that the U.S. Senators confirm U.S. Supreme Court Justices, federal judges and cabinet members.

And while RRFKY does not endorse in local offices like mayor and county clerks, RRFKY strongly urges you to choose wisely. Look and who is running and why – is it to make our society better or just ego driven?

This is no longer hyperbole that the upcoming primaries and General Election have become the most serious in our lifetime.
Let’s take back our states and our country!

Voting Info for Kentucky's May Primary, Tuesday, May 19, 2026
(Much of this also applies to other states)
Many people vote every four years (president only) – and forget to update their voter registration information.

Deadline to register to vote or update your voter registration is
4 p.m. (local time), Monday, April 20, 2026. www.GoVote.KY.gov
Check your voter registration to make sure all information is up to date and correct.

As long as a person is 18 years of age, ON or before Election Day (this year Nov. 3), he/she can vote in the May primary, can vote early, or vote absentee as long as they have registered to vote.

IF a person has moved within the county: Update your address with the county clerk in person, on-line, or in writing, or change your address at the driver's license office.
If you have not done this before Election Day, you may still cast your ballot. You must go to the location that serves your new address on Election Day to vote and update your registration address at that time.

To find your Kentucky local, state and federal officials and to see your sample ballot:
https://jeffersoncountyclerk.org/wheredoivote/

Kentucky is one of eight (8) states that have fully closed primaries.
NOTE: how you registered by Dec. 31, 2025, determines what ballot you will get. This cannot be changed for 2026 elections. This does NOT apply to brand new registrations.
If you are registered as a Republican, your ballot will have the Republican candidates for office as well as the non-partisan races.
If you are registered as a Democrat, your ballot will have the Democratic candidates for office as well as the non-partisan races.
Independent and other parties will have a ballot with only the non-partisan races.

Nonpartisan races are Louisville Mayor, Metro Council and Judges.
Partisan races include County Judge Executive, County Attorney, County Clerk, Sheriff, County Commissioner. Property Valuation Administrator, County Corner, County Surveyor, etc.
List of the local candidates: 2026-candidate-filing.pdf
List of the federal, state and the judicial races: Election: 2026 Primary Election

If a person has moved outside of Jefferson County: Registration books close 28 days before each election. If you move to another Kentucky county, you must register in your new county before the books close in order to be eligible to vote. If you move during the 28 day period that the books are closed, you may return to your previous county to vote in that one election only. You will need to change your registration to your new county as soon as the registration books reopen.

voting tip for KY voters:
Many people vote every four years (president only) – and forget to update their voter registration:

IF you have move within the county: Update your address with the county clerk in person, on-line, or in writing, or change your address at the driver's license office.
If you have not done this before Election Day you may still cast your ballot. You must go to the location that serves your new address on Election Day to vote and update your registration address at that time.

If moves outside of the county: Registration books close 28 days before each election.
If you move to another Kentucky county you must register in your new county before the books close in order to be eligible to vote.
If you move during the 28 day period that the books are closed, you may return to your previous county to vote in that one election only. You will need to change your registration to your new county as soon as the registration books reopen.
