Last week was a blur!! We hosted our first meeting alongside the DNC in over a decade in New Orleans and I think the message was received; YDA IS READY TO GET TO WORK. Proud of my friend and president .heyward for how she represented us on the DNC stage, proud of my counterpart and newest KY Colonel for her work on selecting the first state in the nation to vote in 2028, as part of the Bylaws and Rules Committee and vice chair of the DNC Youth Council. After this meeting I hope everyone in YDA and at the DNC sees the power of connection, and realizes the potential we have if we build and work together. We will do more than win elections, we will make life better for everyday people!! Now back to work. 💪🏾💪🏾🔥

KY ✈️ Omaha ✈️ KY ✈️ LA ‼️That’s a wrap on the December meetings! Spent last weekend in Omaha with the who put on an AMAZING winter meeting and dispelled all the stereotypes. The food was good and it was cheap yall! Will definitely be back. Flew back to KY then right back out to Los Angeles for winter meeting where we heard from a surprise guest, VP !! Shoutout to my counterpart for her push to add 57 young people to the DNC, one from each state and territory. We didn’t get it done this time, but built a ton of support and will go back to the drawing board to figure out how we expand this party to more young people. We also had 99 candidates run to be part of the DNC Youth Council, and many of the 16 candidates selected are part of YDA. When we connect young Dems across the nation, and build power within the DNC, we can win any race we put our minds to winning. See you soon, KY! I is tired 🥱😮‍💨

It’s Election Day!!! I had a great time this weekend rallying and knocking doors with the supporting and other phenomenal candidates. If you have local or state elections today, make sure to get out there and vote, our country is depending on it. Remember that there are people in office up and down the ballot that don’t believe in free and fair elections—voting is the only way to combat that. will be here to show up and fight EVERY SINGLE ELECTION! Because that’s what we do.

I had a great time at the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Annual Legislative Conference last week. Three takeaways:

1) Black people always have been and are still standing in the gap, finding solutions to take care of us while being the moral compass of this nation.
2) This ain’t nothing new. Slavery, Reconstruction, Jim Crow, MAGA. It’s all the same. We shouldn’t be giving so much credit to people with so little originality, dont be afraid be intentional.
3) Everyone has a gift and role to play in this season. Whether you are working on yourself, your community or your country, not working at all is unacceptable. We cant throw up our hands and expect things not to get worse.

Special shoutout to my YDA DNC counterpart Steph Campanha Wheaton who invited me to a Nationals game sitting behind home plate while I was in town. SO CLOSE TO A COMBEACK WIN! Y’all might make me a fan…great seeing everyone this weekend!

Photo dump from my first ever DNC meeting! (I got to meet THE Donna Brazile!) We joined the ALF-CIO for a press conference standing with the AFGE workers whose collective bargaining rights are under attack. I ate way too much fried food at the Minnesota State Fair, and got to hear from Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval, Governor Tim Walz, Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee, and Congresswoman Maxine Waters. We have so much to work on as a party and as a country, but the leaders at are ready to roll up our sleeves. They heard from us this weekend, and we’ll be back in December to do it all again! Until then, we keep pressing on. 🫡🫡

You can't fix a problem without acknowledging it. The party has a branding issue, and we have for a while. Just registering voters is no longer enough. We have to educate them, meet them where they are, and show people that we can make their lives better. The only way that will happen is with investment in the youth of the party, so we can do the work of winning the next generation. Donate today and let's fight back!
