Louisville MSD Louisville/Jefferson County Sewer District (Louisville MSD) is 3 utilities in 1: wastewater treatment, flood protection, and stormwater drainage.

The Louisville/Jefferson County Metropolitan Sewer District (MSD) works to achieve and maintain clean, environmentally safe waterways for a healthy and vibrant community. Interested in starting a rain garden? Start with a Black-eyed Susan!

Black-eyed Susan is a biennial or short-lived perennial that has a long flowering time from early through mid-summer. They attract birds, bees, and butterflies, and thrive in full to part sun.

Black-eyed Susans and other native plants help soak up stormwater with their dense roots, helping create safer, cleaner waterways.

Check out our Rain Garden Plant Guide linked in the comments for more gardening ideas.

The Jim King Memorial Rain Garden in Germantown was recently upgraded and replanted. It's a patch of native plants and flowers that add beauty and help improve water quality. Rain gardens help absorb stormwater, reducing the volume of polluted water entering our sewer system and waterways.
