At Edmondson, we know that how students feel matters just as much as how they learn. Each morning, our 4th and 5th grade students begin their day with a quick check-in sheet that gives them a chance to share how they’re feeling.

These simple check-ins give our teachers valuable insight into where students are emotionally and help them better understand what support each student may need that day. Most importantly, they remind our students that their feelings matter, their voices are heard, and they are seen.

We’re proud to build morning routines that create connection, belonging, and a strong foundation for learning. 🐎✨

🎉 What a way to kick off the school year! 🎉
Our first assembly of the year on Tuesday was full of excitement, school spirit, and plenty of reasons to celebrate!

We had the chance to welcome our new staff members and officially introduce our new principal, Lorrie Joseph, to the Edmondson family.

And of course, we couldn’t forget a very special visitor… Rocky! Our school mascot made an appearance and brought some extra Stallion spirit to the celebration!

Here’s to a fantastic year filled with learning, laughter, and making memories together. We’re ready, Stallions!

Today, we’re celebrating Jera Robertson, who has dedicated more than two decades to serving students and families in Thompson School District!

This photo captures Jera doing what she does best: welcoming and teaching our newest Stallions on their very first day of kindergarten. 🥹📚 From first-day nerves to first-day smiles, her experience, care, and commitment help make those first moments at school so special.

We are so grateful for the lasting impact Jera has made on generations of students. Here’s to more than 20 years of making a difference, one student at a time! 🐎💙

We’re Back, Stallions! 🐴💙
The halls of Laurene Edmondson Elementary were full of smiles, excitement, and lots of energy today as our staff officially kicked off a brand-new school year!

A special shoutout to Ms. Addie, our amazing secretary, and Mrs. Joseph, our wonderful new principal, for helping welcome everyone back and getting us ready for another great year. We are so lucky to have such a dedicated team working behind the scenes to make Edmondson a special place for our students and families.

Two-Hour Early Release TOMORROW, FRIDAY, AUGUST 21, Due to Heat

Good Afternoon, Families:
The current hot weather that we are experiencing within our community has had a significant impact on our district and many of our school buildings. While approximately half of the district's schools are fully air-conditioned, the remaining buildings do not have air conditioning within their classrooms and only have limited air conditioned spaces within the buildings.

Weather services are forecasting that we will experience significantly warm weather tomorrow. We believe that the temperature will create conditions in many of our buildings that will be quite difficult for students and staff.

➡️ As a result, please be aware that all Thompson School District schools will release two hours early tomorrow, Friday, August 21. To determine the release time, families should subtract two hours from the school's normal release time. Bus pick-up will be two hours sooner than the normal pick-up time. Please note that afternoon preschool classes will not be held. ⬅️

Athletic teams will continue with their current schedule and will follow the standards that are set by the Colorado High School Activities Association. Families who participate in after-school programming with the Boys and Girls Club and YMCA of Northern Colorado should reach out to their aftercare provider for information about service levels that are available.

We understand that this decision will create some significant schedule adjustments for many of our families. However, we do believe that this early release schedule will provide some much-needed relief and beneficial assistance for our students and staff.
