We had a wonderful time at the Guitar in the Garden event yesterday evening! A big thank you to Global Justice for hosting and for the opportunity to share our mission and ways to get involved at Loveland Habitat.

Join us for an evening of music and community this Thursday, August 27th from 6-8 p.m. at Global Justice, 342 E. 3rd St. in Loveland.

Proceeds will help individuals and families achieve affordable homeownership in the Loveland area.

Our August volunteer spotlight is ReStore regular, Chris (pictured left w/Michelle, our ReStore Office Administrator)!

Chris volunteers in the ReStore boutique department where she creates outfits, jewelry, and other treasures to be displayed for customers. She has been volunteering with Loveland Habitat for 16 years!

When asked what made her choose Loveland Habitat to volunteer, she said "Habitat is a wonderful nonprofit organization and I love their mission in building affordable housing for those in need. In fact, I have two personal friends who now live in Habitat homes, and I see what it has done for them. What a blessing!"

Thank you to Chris for sharing her story with us and for being a dedicated and longtime volunteer. Our mission is not possible without our amazing volunteers like Chris.

Last week, we had the joy of being a part of one of our longtime construction volunteers, Mike's 85th birthday celebration! 🎉

Mike and his wife, Elaine have been volunteering with Loveland Habitat for almost 40 years. In fact, they were both part of building the very first Habitat home in Loveland since the organization was founded in 1987!

Thank you to Mike, Elaine, and their family and friends for all of their time and generous support throughout the years, along with all of our other wonderful construction volunteers. Each and every one of them make our mission possible and we couldn't do it without them. 🏠❤️

Loveland Housing Authority and Loveland Habitat for Humanity were honored to welcome Senator John Hickenlooper last Friday as he toured our upcoming affordable housing development, Grace Gardens.

During his visit, Senator Hickenlooper met with regional affordable housing leaders to discuss the growing need for affordable housing in Loveland and the challenges communities face in bringing these developments to life. The conversation focused on funding, zoning and approval processes, building code requirements that can limit affordable design options, and the rising costs of construction.

We appreciate the opportunity to share the realities of developing affordable housing and to have meaningful conversations about the policies and partnerships needed to create more homes for individuals and families in our community.

Thank you, Senator Hickenlooper, for taking the time to listen, learn, and support efforts to expand affordable housing opportunities in Northern Colorado.

Back in 2020, Jackie had just settled in the Loveland area and thought volunteering would be a great way to meet people and give back to her new community.
