Operation Overlord, code name for the Battle of Normandy, took place 82 years ago today.

Chief Doran, a West Point graduate and Army veteran, noted, “D-Day stands as one of the most consequential moments in world history. Allied forces came together in an extraordinary display of courage and coordination, breaking through N**i defenses and altering the course of World War II.”

Now, more commonly known as D-Day, June 6 serves as a time to honor those who accomplished what many considered impossible. They stormed the heavily fortified beaches of Normandy, faced overwhelming odds, and sacrificed in ways few generations have ever known.

Today, we remember the courage, sacrifice, and resolve of those who braved the unknown and fought with extraordinary valor.

We owe them a debt that can never fully be repaid. Lest we forget. 🇺🇸

🤷🏼‍♀️ Some people keep insisting it’s National Donut Day. 🍩

For years, we’ve operated under the impression that it was National Thank a Cop Day. 🚔♥️🫡

It’s all making sense now…

Highway to the Danger Zone?

Let’s be honest, "I feel the need...the need for speed" tends to lose its charm when you're explaining it from the driver's seat during a traffic stop.

One driver apparently woke up, turned on the Top Gun soundtrack, and decided it was time to buzz the tower.

Unfortunately, the tower turned out to be one of our officers.

The driver was clocked at nearly 30 mph over the posted speed limit, apparently believing the roadway doubled as a runway. Well, that’s a negative Ghost Rider, it is not.

The good news? Nobody got hurt. The bad news? This high-speed scene ended with flashing lights and a traffic stop.

As always, the safest move involves staying in formation with posted speed limits and traffic laws.

Stay safe, Sweetheart City. And don't lose that lovin' feelin’.

🫱🏼‍🫲🏽 Police Citizen Advisory Board (PCAB)

This photo captures our Police Citizen Advisory Board, and everyone in the community has an open invitation to attend these meetings each month.

🗓️ PCAB meets on the first Monday in City Council Chambers, starting at 5:30 p.m. The next meeting lands today, Monday, June 1.

📣 Each meeting opens with public comment, followed by time for residents to sit in, listen, and learn what sits on the agenda for the month. No pressure, no speeches required, just an opportunity to stay informed.

🫡 PCAB exists to strengthen transparency and collaboration between City Council, the Loveland Police Department, and the community we serve. The board focuses on promoting trust, accountability, and mutual respect through open dialogue, community engagement, and thoughtful review of policies and practices.

♥️ In short, real people, real conversations, and a real seat at the table.
