Elementary School Camp for current 4th and 5th Graders -
Students work in small teams (2 members) to learn about the basics of the Vex V5 Robotics system. They will build, program, and drive their robots through a variety of different games and competitions with the guidance of a mentor.

Middle School Camp for current 6th- 8th Graders -
Students work in small teams (3-4 members) to learn basic manufacturing skills and build a large-scale robot drive system with a group of high school mentors. Skills will include hand- and power-tool use, riveting, wiring and electronics, basic programming, and beginning wood manufacturing techniques.

Spring Family Dinner, Book Bingo and Resource Fair

Join us on Friday, May 1st 5-7 PM for our last FREE family event of the school year!

We will provide Domino's pizza and sides for dinner, Book bingo for entertainment, and also have tables of local resources you might not know exist.

This is a great way to connect with other Wildcats and plan for Summer activities.

This will include but is not limited to: food programs, extracurriculars, therapies and community resources.

Additionally some will be providing their own giveaways and activities.

May 4-8 has been designated National Teacher Appreciation Week for 2026. The commemorative week was created as an opportunity for students, families, and community members to recognize educational professionals for their service and dedication. As part of this year's celebration, Thompson School District invites students and family members to 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗮 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲.

🔥 Ice, Fire, and... Under Pressure! 🌬️
Our "Mad Scientists" took over the gym yesterday, and the results were mind-blowing!

Thanks to the incredible success of our Dash Day fundraiser, our students earned a front-row seat to the wonders of physics and chemistry. Today wasn't just a show; it was a hands-on masterclass in the elements that make up our world.

🧪 What We Discovered:
The Fire Triangle: We learned exactly what fire needs to burn (and how to handle it safely!).

The Power of Air: Seeing how invisible air can move objects and fill space.

High Pressure: We felt the force! Students learned how pressure can create movement, launches, and even a few "pops."

Watching our students' faces light up with every experiment reminds us why we do what we do. Thank you to everyone who donated and participated in Dash Day to make this "explosive" reward possible!

Happy Earth Day! 🌎🍑

There’s no better way to celebrate than by starting the day with a taste of Colorado’s own Western Slope. This morning, our students fueled up with delicious, sun-ripened Colorado Peach Smoothies!

We are incredibly grateful to Rogers Mesa Fruit in Hotchkiss, CO, for providing the star ingredient. By sourcing these peaches from just over the mountains, we’re not only supporting our local farmers but also reducing our "food miles" and carbon footprint—a perfect lesson in sustainability for Earth Day.

Why We’re Celebrating with Peaches:
Locally Grown: These peaches traveled from the beautiful North Fork Valley, keeping our community connected and our planet greener.

Thompson School District's Annual Family Check-In for the 2026-27 school year is now available through your Parent Portal account.

This yearly update is required for every student enrolled in Thompson School District and must be completed by a parent or guardian for the 2026-2027 school year. Parents and guardians in the student’s primary household can complete the application by reviewing and updating household, emergency contact, student health information and permissions via the link. This information is used in the day-to-day operations of your child's school and it is imperative that it's accurate. Schools and district staff also use it to communicate important announcements and to reach out to you in cases of emergency.
