This morning, August 30, 2026, at 0600, Firefighter Paramedic Jesse Campbell officially retired from the fire service, marking the end of a career dedicated to serving others.

Throughout his time with Deerfield Township Fire Rescue, Jesse consistently demonstrated professionalism, dedication, and a commitment to his fellow firefighters and the community we serve.

Jesse, thank you for your years of service, your hard work, and the positive impact you’ve made on Deerfield Township Fire Rescue. Your contributions will not be forgotten.

Congratulations to Our Honor Guard Graduates!

Please join us in congratulating six members of Deerfield Township Fire Rescue on successfully completing the National Honor Guard Academy!

The fire service is built on tradition, brotherhood, service, and respect. An Honor Guard represents all of those values at some of the most important and difficult moments our profession will ever face.

Whether we are honoring a fallen firefighter, recognizing the service of a retiree, presenting the colors at a ceremony, or representing our department at a community event, the Honor Guard carries the responsibility of representing not only Deerfield Township Fire Rescue, but the entire fire service.

The work of an Honor Guard is more than uniforms, ceremonies, and precision. It is about honoring those who came before us, supporting those who are grieving, and preserving the traditions that make the fire service so special.

We are incredibly proud of the commitment, professionalism, and attention to detail these six members demonstrated throughout the academy. Their willingness to take on this responsibility ensures that when the time comes, our department will be prepared to honor our own with the dignity and respect they deserve.

🚒 Mutual Aid in Action

The mutual aid system throughout Warren County is designed to provide the best possible outcome for our residents, no matter where an emergency occurs.

We were proud to assist our neighbors in Union Township during this incident. While some of our crews and apparatus were committed to the mutual aid response, additional resources remained available in Deerfield Township and were able to respond to and handle two calls within our community.

This is exactly why mutual aid matters. By working together, Warren County fire and EMS agencies can support one another while continuing to protect the communities we each serve. 🤝🚒

Earlier this week, members of our Apparatus Committee traveled to Brandon, South Dakota to participate in the pre-construction meeting for Deerfield Township Fire Rescue’s new Spartan Emergency Response pumper.

This meeting is one of the most important steps in the apparatus-building process, allowing our members to work directly with Spartan, along with our dealer, Johnson's Emergency Vehicle Solutions, to review every detail of the truck’s design, equipment, and functionality before construction begins.

Our committee’s goal is simple: ensure this new pumper is built to meet the needs of our firefighters while providing the highest level of service to the residents and visitors of Deerfield Township for years to come.

Thank you to the members of our Apparatus Committee for your time, expertise, and commitment to making sure this investment serves both our personnel and our community. We look forward to sharing updates as construction progresses!

Expected delivery is 700 days!

🚒 July in Review! 🚑

In July, our crews responded to 514 total calls — including 199 fire runs and 315 EMS runs.

We’re proud to serve Deerfield Township and to support our neighboring communities through mutual aid when needed. A huge thank-you to our dedicated team for their hard work, professionalism, and commitment to keeping our community safe! 👏

🔥 Fire on the first floor? No problem. 💪🏼
🔥 Fire on the second floor? No problem❗️

But what if there’s a fire on the 4th floor? Or maybe even higher?!? 😱

🏨 Commercial buildings extending multiple floors usually have what is called a standpipe. These are permanent pipes, most commonly found in stairwells, that we can utilize to pump water higher up without the need for extra hose. 💦

Even with this benefit, standpipe operations can be labor intensive and often require the cooperation of multiple crews to be placed in service.
Recently DTFR personnel trained with crews from the City of Mason Fire Department. Learning each other’s tactics, and increasing our efficiency working as a unified crew. 🚒

We at Deerfield Township Fire Rescue, are proud to be apart of this community, and this great nation. 🚒 🚑 🇺🇸

While we celebrate, please do so in a controlled and safe manner:

🥵 It’s hot, please be sure to hydrate and stay as cool as you can.

🎆 If you are celebrating by lighting sparklers or are discharging any fireworks, please use them responsibly. Do not discard used items into trash bins, soak in water if possible. And keep a safe distance from other people, buildings, and dry grass/vegetation.

🍔 Do not leave grills unattended. Keep open flames away from anything that can ignite and catch fire. Do not allow small children around a grill in use.

🚙 Please do not drive impaired. Designate a driver, utilize a cab, or other ride-sharing service.
