The Democracy In Action Ohio MLK Day of Service at Loveland Interfaith Effort LIFE was awesome--18 volunteers came to deep clean the pantry and paint an office. This is the 4th year of this Day of Service which ends with the group reading aloud one of MLKs sermons or speeches. This year was "Three Evils of Society"

Just an fyi...Per AP News and Reuters:
As of 5pm today, the following orgs/programs will have a freeze on all federal funds:
Headstart
WIC
Medicaid
School breakfasts/lunches
Student Loans
Section 8

Also applies to any nonprofit that receives federal funding to do their work--let's list a few of those impacted:
Domestic Violence Shelters
R**e Crisis Centers
Food Pantries
Homeless Shelters
Veterans' support orgs

"The White House is pausing federal grants and loans starting on Tuesday as President Donald Trump’s administration begins an across-the-board ideological review of its spending.

What does the funding freeze mean? The funding freeze could affect trillions of dollars and cause widespread disruption in health care research, education programs and other initiatives. Even grants that have been awarded but not spent are supposed to be halted."

The review will take months...with no guarantee that the funds will come back. Which means folks WILL lose jobs, homes, food, healthcare...none of that is easy to come back from.

hmmm...for those NOT in the crosshairs (I'm looking at y'all straight Christian people pf pallor) let's use our relative safety and just say no. I feel like "LOL, No" should be the response to just about every action those in charge are trying to take--just, "That's illegal/unconstitutional/Anti-American, so lol, no. (actually laughing out loud would be a nice touch)
