If you are relying on your lawn sprinklers to water your trees, they may not be getting enough. Hot and dry conditions are especially tough on trees. Make sure trees receive around 10 gallons for each inch of trunk diameter (3" thick trunk = 30 gallons of water) each week during the growing season. Apply water at the dripline, where the roots can use it most efficiently.

Planning to accidentally start a wildfire?

Let's not.

Whether you're camping, fishing, hiking, or simply enjoying Wyoming's wide-open spaces, a few simple precautions can help protect the places we all love.

Before you head out:
• Fireworks are prohibited on BLM-managed public lands in Wyoming. *
• Never leave a campfire unattended.
• Secure trailer safety chains to prevent sparks.
• Avoid parking on dry grass.
• Carry a shovel, water, or a fire extinguisher when recreating outdoors.

*Exception* The BLM Worland Field Office has a designated fireworks site northwest of Worland July 3–5 in partnership with local agencies.

Help keep Wyoming wild—and not on fire.
