Pershing County Public Library . A place for ideas to gather, readers to learn, and minds to grow. Your first library card is free; replacements are $2.00 each.

Free Wi-Fi and use of computers, as well as access to our large selection of books and movies, with an eligible library card. Late fees:
Books/audio books (PER BOOK): no accrued fees for the first three days. $0.40 on the fourth day, and $0.10 a day following, until total fee reaches $2.00. DVDs: a flat late fee of $1.00 (PER MOVIE) beginning on the fourth day. Books dropped in the outside receptacle after closing will not be processed till next business day (late fees may apply).

We had SUCH a fruitful (🥁🥁) first-annual seed swap on Wednesday! Our first huge thanks to Kristen Burr with the University of Nevada, Reno Extension for hosting and coordinating the swap, and secondly to all the patrons who participated!! The seed library will live permanently in the library, bringing new life to our library's very first card catalog. We even had donations of live onion shoots, which should be good for a few days more!

We ask everyone please keep in mind our guidelines of use--this system is based on honor, and we trust our patrons to protect this resource! That means take what you need, and donate back what you don't. We believe this project will thrive with everyone's support. Let us know if you have any questions!!

Your library has a metric ton of stuff planned for you this summer!! Not just Summer Reading Program, but reading challenges, Family Game Nights, Magic the Gathering, and so much more. The 2026 Summer Reading Program theme is: Unearth A Story!!

This program is for kiddos entering the 2nd-5th grades. Sign-ups start May 4th. Visit us in the library for a registration form. Each session is limited to 20 kids, so it's first come first serve!

This program was funded in part by the Friends of the Pershing County Library, and a federal LSTA grant from IMLS and NSLAPR.

It's that time again!! Still looking for something to do this Spring Break? Give some thought to one of Nevada's 27 state parks. With this pass a car of up to 8 people get day-use access for FREE. Check one out for up to a week and get out there!

The library will soon be starting Magic the Gathering programming! The idea is that any patron interested can walk away with their own deck, but first we'd like to gather as many supplies as possible. If any of our patrons have extra MTG supplies they'd like to offload, or would like to donate towards the program, we'd be very grateful for them.

We're looking for cards, mats, sleeves, boxes, dice, any MTG supply you no longer want or want to contribute. We only ask that the supply is clean and in good condition. You can bring them to any librarian at our front desk!
