On Tuesday, September 8, crews will be completing a repair for the Sanitary District on Material Avenue. Material Avenue will be closed to through traffic throughout the day, but is expected to reopen to traffic that evening.

We’re so glad to have the Home Base Sports Fields right here in the City of Loves Park! ⚾️❤️

So many games will be played here, memories will be made, goals will be reached, and accomplishments will be celebrated. We’re excited to see these fields filled with athletes, families, and plenty of smiles for years to come!

CELEBRATING THE NEW FIELDS - Yesterday, August 24, we gathered to celebrate the inaugural season of the Rockford Park District’s Buddy Baseball and All-Stars Baseball being located at their new Home Base Sports Fields right here in Loves Park, IL at Darryl F. Lindberg Park | 721 Pearl Ave.🎉⚾

These adaptive fields and accessible dugouts have created a welcoming place for athletes to play the game they love, showcase their skills, stay active, and make new friends.

We’re incredibly thankful to the Rockford Park District for bringing these programs to Loves Park and choosing our community as their home base. It’s been amazing to see these fields filled with athletes, families, coaches/ staff, and supporters throughout the season.

In Loves Park, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to participate, be active, build confidence, and experience the joy of being part of a team.❤️ There's a place for everyone on the field.

Celebrating a New Chapter at Walter Lawson Children’s Home!

The City of Loves Park was honored to celebrate with Walter Lawson Children’s Home for the completion of nearly $1 million in renovations to its educational wing! The upgrades include new flooring, lighting, paint, cabinetry, and much more, completely transforming and brightening the space for students and staff.

Principal Katie Johnson shared that the school is a non-public special education facility, and these improvements will provide students with a welcoming, updated space to learn, grow, and thrive for years to come.

With more than 180 staff members, Walter Lawson Children’s Home plays an important role in supporting children and families in our community. We are proud to celebrate this exciting investment in their students and educational environment! 💙

Honoring Polly Smith🌳- The City of Loves Park gathered today with close family and friends of the Smith Family to dedicate a tree in memory of Pauline “Polly” Smith, a dedicated public servant and longtime member of our community.

Polly served as the 3rd Ward Alderwoman for nearly 15 years, contributed to city beautification efforts, served on the Zoning Board of Appeals, and dedicated countless hours to organizations including the Pantry, North Suburban Library, Rotary, and Bethany Presbyterian Church.

Polly’s quiet determination and unwavering commitment to making Loves Park a better place left a lasting impact on our community. Loves Park is a better place because of her service and dedication.

We are honored to remember her legacy with this tree dedication located at 100 Heart Blvd in front of City Hall.
