Monroe County Conservation is located in south central Iowa, and is home to the Lake Miami Recreation Area. Collectively, the Monroe CCB manages the Lake Miami Area, Monroe County Sports Complex, and Gladson Carmack Park - totaling in excess of 900 acres within the county. Lake Miami also offers camping, overnight cabins, wildlife exhibit, playground, open and enclosed shelters and much more! For

The goal of the Monroe County Conservation Board is to encourage awareness and enjoyment of our Natural Resources by providing a better understanding of our environment. Title VI Policy Statement

We love seeing our community come together to support one -another! Sometimes its the simple acts of kindness that make the biggest impact.

This week we had the pleasure of welcoming 92-year-old veteran Lee and his family to our park. When we contacted the wonderful folks at Veterans at Rathbun, they generously loaned a golf cart for him to drive around the park. He is an avid fisherman and it means the world to him to be able to get down to his favorite fishing spots. We would like to thank them for their kindness and dedication to our veterans. ❤️🤍💙

More than anything, the gesture served as a reminder that it is important for our veterans to know they are appreciated and remembered. Seeing Lee's smile and knowing someone went out of their way to make his stay a little more special meant a lot to all of us.

Our first Dandelion Kids field trip at the park was a success! 🌼🦁
We loved having our Kendall preschool friends out to learn and explore nature together. The kids gathered dandelions and created adorable lion faces by poking the flowers through cardboard manes, learned about the dandelion life cycle and flower anatomy, practiced dandelion yoga, and explored our nature center animal displays. The animal furs were definitely a favorite!
We can’t wait for more Dandelion Kids adventures ahead. 💛
