Join us for the NELSON COMMUNITY HEALTH FAIR on JULY 18 from 10 AM–2 PM at Tye River Elementary School! This FREE community event will offer sports physicals and immunizations for Nelson students, community resources, food trucks, health education, and much more. Families will also have the opportunity to connect with local organizations and services that support our community's health and wellness.

School is out, summer meals are in! Nelson County Public School is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, s*x (including gender identity and s*xual orientation), disability or age, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided, on a first come, first serve basis, at the sites and times listed below. Children must remain onsite while consuming their meals.

Breakfast will be served on site from 7:45 AM until 8:30 AM June 8 -25, 2026.

Lunch will be served on site from 10:45 AM until 12:30 PM June 8 -25, 2026.

We will be sending home 3 days of breakfast and lunch meals on Thursdays, with all students attending activities at Tye River Elementary during summer school.

A heartfelt thank you to our families, friends, NCPS staff, NCHS band/choir, the Nelson community and first responders, the Board of Supervisors, and School Board members for joining us in celebrating the NCHS Class of 2026. Your support made this special evening even more meaningful for our graduates.
