🔥 Fire Safety Reminder: Brush Fires & Controlled Burns 🔥

As the weather warms up and conditions dry out, the risk of brush fires increases. Whether you’re planning a controlled burn or just enjoying the outdoors, please keep these safety tips in mind:

🌾 Brush Fires Can Spread Quickly
Dry grass, leaves, and wind can turn a small spark into a fast-moving fire in minutes.

🔥 Before You Burn:
• Check local burn laws and restrictions
• Notify us at 434-263-7050.
• Avoid burning on windy or dry days

🧯 During a Controlled Burn:
• Keep water, a hose, or fire extinguisher nearby
• Never leave the fire unattended
• Clear a safe perimeter around the burn area

🚫 What NOT to Do:
• Don’t burn trash or hazardous materials
• Don’t start fires near structures, vehicles, or wooded areas

📞 If a Fire Gets Out of Control — Call 911 Immediately

🚨 April Fools from Your 911 Dispatchers! 🚨

Starting today, we’re excited to announce our brand new Voice-Activated Dispatch System 🎤

Dispatchers will now simply say commands like:
“Send fire,” “Run a tag,” or “More coffee please!” ☕

We’re still working out a few bugs… it seems to respond best to snacks and sarcasm 😅

In all seriousness — we’re here 24/7, ready to answer when you truly need us. Stay safe, and don’t forget to double-check the date 😉
