We can’t share all the great opportunities available through our education partners, but we encourage families and community members who want to learn more about supporting students with disabilities to visit the Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center (PEATC) website at https://peatc.org/. It’s a helpful place to find information, resources, and support about special education.

📣 Summer Feeding Program Distribution Begins Tomorrow! 📣

We’re excited to kick off the Summer Feeding Program starting 6.4.26!

🍎 CMS & JWES Sites
Breakfast: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM
Lunch: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Meals are available Monday–Thursday
Weekend meal packets will be sent home with students
Please note: Parent/guardian pick-up is not allowed at these two sites

🍱 CES, MVES & SES Sites
These are 7-day meal pick-up sites.
If you signed up online and your child’s name is on the roster, children do NOT need to be present for pick-up.
If you did NOT sign up, children must be present to receive meal packets.
Parents/guardians may complete a paper form on-site to request pick-up for the remainder of the summer.
➡️Important update for SES families:
Families will now pick up meals at the side kitchen entrance, as was done this winter during meal distribution.

🌟 Leadership in action! 🌟

Alleghany High School sophomore Charlotte Taylor represented AHS at the Virginia HOBY Youth Leadership Seminar held at James Madison University (May 29-31), joining students from across Virginia for a weekend of leadership training, teamwork, and service-focused challenges.

From hands-on workshops to conversations about communication and goal-setting, Taylor gained real-world leadership skills.

Taylor, who will be a junior this fall, stays active at school through the Key Club, Pep Club, FCA, and both cross-country and track.

🎉 End of Year Attendance Challenge Winners 🎉

Alleghany High School recognized and celebrated the students who achieved perfect attendance from April 1 through May 26.

This is a remarkable accomplishment, especially during one of the busiest stretches of the school year. Their consistency and commitment reflect responsibility, dedication, and true Cougar pride.

What a special day for our community as family, friends, faculty, and neighbors gathered at Mountaineer Field to celebrate the Alleghany High School Class of 2026. These graduates have worked hard to reach this milestone, and we couldn’t be prouder of all they have accomplished.
