Coreyforstaterep Candidate for The 16th Middlesex District (Centralville, Pawtucketville, Westlands, Vinyl Square, North Chelmsford)

Current: Lowell City Councilor.

Candidate for Lowell City Council - Centralville (District 2) seat. I am a lifelong resident of Lowell. I understand what it takes to get things done, and I know how much knowledge and wisdom my neighbors bring to the table, too. I attended our public schools, forged lifelong friendships at the Boys & Girls Club, and graduated from Lowell Middlesex Academy Charter School. When I was young, many of

my peers struggled to achieve success because of the lack of opportunities available to them in our community. My campaign for City Council really started with an opportunity from the City when I was 14. I got a job in Lowell’s Summer Youth Employment Program. That city job turned into a calling: I realized that I loved serving my community by working to improve its neighborhoods. I haven’t stopped since. I worked for the Department of Public Works for 15 years, and my colleagues chose me as our Union President. This year’s election system changes give Centralville’s problem-solvers a chance to shine. I’m ready to advocate for my neighbors of Centralville on the Lowell City Council. I know that Together We Make A Difference.

It is truly an honor to have gained the support of this group of professionals tasked with keeping the Chelmsford community safe. Time and time again during times of chaos, this hard working team answer the ringing of the bell. I am committed to reciprocating that notion. I will always answer the bell to assist ALL residents of Chelmsford and work with the community on solutions to the challenges we face.

“In considering your endorsement, we noted that your approach to issues before you as a member of the Lowell City Council has been thoughtful and deliberative. You take the time to listen to all sides and complete your research before forming opinions, and we have found you to be accessible and responsive to all our concerns.”-IAFF Local 1839

“By continuing to learn about issues that affect our safety, you are helping to improve the safety of the residents of Chelmsford. This demonstrates the strong leadership you will bring to your role as the Representative of the 16th Middlesex District.”-IAFF Local 1839

Thank you for your support.

As I have repeatedly emphasized, as the District Representative for a neighborhood that has experienced a significant number of fires in the past six months, it has become evident from my neighbors that Centralville does not support brownouts or a reduction in fire department staffing.

One aspect that resonated with me last night was the fact that, despite personal feelings, we as a community witnessed two parties engage in a negotiation to find a compromise that mitigated any potential risks to our residents. This demonstrated the remarkable power of compromise. By prioritizing the shared outcome and fostering an open mindset among both parties, the concept of greater good prevailed.

I extend my gratitude to everyone involved in reaching the agreement to maintain public safety for our residents. I am hopeful that we can utilize this example as a catalyst to continue advancing our community in a positive direction.
